We booked a restaurant at the last minute near our exhibition venue and stumbled upon this gem serving local cuisine. However, we were only given until 1 PM for lunch and had no choice but to go with the set menu. The sheer number of dishes—18 in total, including desserts—was quite overwhelming to finish within 1.5 hours.
Each dish was beautifully presented. I particularly enjoyed the braised pork neck and ear, which were perfectly prepared with just the right tenderness and flavor, though the portion was more than we could handle. Other highlights included the braised fish head, eels, and crab roe, all of which were flavorful, though the overall taste leaned towards the sweeter side, typical of Shanghai cuisine. The smoked small pomfret was another standout—the fish was fried so crisply that we could even chew through the head entirely.
