Nothing special here, just an adequate business hotel in the Jing'an area, 30m walk to Line 2 and Jing'an Temple, 15m walk to Lines 11 and 13. A few restaurants across the street in shopping center 988 and at least three coffee shops in easy walking distance (Starbucks, Tim Horton's, and Luckin). Formerly known as the Ambassador Hotel, which might pop up in internet searches or maps. Interacted with three staff members (two different people at the front desk and one at the restaurant) who clearly were not comfortable communicating in anything but Mandarin; don't expect to make nonstandard requests in English. Room was sufficiently clean, linen was crisp, hot water was plentiful, windows were not covered in oily fingerprints. Heater was obviously throttled in October and room was somewhat chilly. Bed was comfortable. Furnishing and styling was functional. Internet connection stable and broad enough for video streaming. Booked a room that was advertised as having panoramic view, but actual room had no such thing. Breakfast was edible but hardly remarkable. If staying in the area again, I would consider trying...
Read moreOur initial room had an old feel to it mainly because there were many noticeable stains on the carpet especially a large one between the twin beds. Also the wall paper was pealing away from the walls. It didn’t feel like a 4-star hotel room. We immediately went back to the front desk and requested if we could change to a better room and one without a carpet if possible. They kindly understood but didn’t have one available for that night. So the next day we went to our new room which was higher up so the view was much better. It also had wooden floors and the wallpaper was in tact. There was even a bonus toilet with all of its cleaning functions plus a high tech mirror. There were even 2 comfy chairs instead of just the one in the first room. This change made all the difference and we really enjoyed our next 2 days! But the highlight was after we had checked out when my friend noticed she had lost her ID card. The gentleman behind the front desk showed her with the utmost patience how to get an e-card. I was so impressed over his empathetic nature. Thank you so much, sir, for helping my friend solve...
Read moreI go to ShangHai every year. I used to stay at luxury hotels all the time. But since I found this one. I have continued to stay here twice already. . Highly recommended! The location is close to JinAn area. Walking about 25mins. The hotel is surround many local stores near by. Easily get a lot of yummy local food . Rooms are very clean ! The panorama single room is very specious and bright! Their services are very good as well . At the front desk,Iris and Ivy etc. are very professional , friendly and helpful. Jack is super nice guy. Always helped to curry on my luggage to room and taxi . Room cleaners are working hard and kind as well. They are also doing very good jobs. I stayed at 14th and 15th this time. Have found that 15th floor shower is a bit weaker water pressure than 14th. Only one thing if I feel a little bit negative about is their shampoo . Since it is shampoo and conditioner all in .After washed hair, feeling very scrubbing. Not good at all . I might have to take my own shampoo and conditioner next time :) When I am alone to travel in Shanghai. This hotel would be my...
