Seaview O.City Hotel Shenzhen — Hotel in Shenzhen

I will not be returning to this place. I was not informed before the booking of the huge construction they have going on. My room was literally in the middle of a construction site. The noise should according to the hotel be from 9-12 and 14-19. The few times I wanted to relax in the hotel room in the mentioned hours, I instantly regretted. It was simply impossible to be there with the noise. Two mornings they even started around 8! I requested a partial refund at the information desk, but they told me this would not be possible as it was already paid for. I could instead have an additional night - which I could not (and would not) make use of as I was returning home right after my stay there. We booked online and was given a room in the Side Annex of the hotel (not part of main hotel) it overlooked buildings and was a dreary n depressing room...so be careful. We opted to pay more and was upgraded to a room in the main hotel with a seaview which was excellent. The hotel is well located near the metro n tourist attractions. The Hotel is in need of a revamp to bring it back to its former glory. The room itself was adequate and clean, but a thorough dusting of the fixtures n frames will do. The Bathroom needs urgent update. It seems to be frequented by more business people so the breakfast is very busy, you may have to share your table with a stranger however a good selection for western style breakfast. The staff is friendly and a helpful. Yes I would stay there again because of the view...but please...

I arrived in the evening of September 4th. I am allergic to smoke so when I smelt smoke in the room I called the front desk and ask for nonsmoking room.the staff said “all of our rooms are non smoking” I asked them to change my room. They sent someone with another room key. I still smelt smoke. He said “nothing we can do. Open the window” What? Really? That is all you can do? You told me all rooms are nonsmoking and everywhere smelt like smoke (hall way, elevator, everywhere) I asked to change my room again at the front desk. Your staff gave me a mean look for me to ask to change rooms. After we discuss, she said she will show few more and I can decide. Everything smelt like smoke still.
