Shanshui Trends Hotel North Huaqiang — Hotel in Shenzhen

Totally a business hotel, meant for business peeps to just sleep a couple of nights. The rooms are not non-smoking even though I have indicated. When checking in, I even checked again with the staff if it's smoke-free and they said yes. During the night smoke got into the room and some caucasians even open their room doors to let the smoke out. Very inconsiderate. I coudn't sleep and had a face mask on the whole night. Next morning, I complained at the front counter then they changed to another level with lesser people which was much better.Apart from the smoke issues, the hotel has decent breakfast which was complimentary and the room amenities were good. Cleaners were very active and ever willing to clean your room. There is a spa on level 3, but smoke is everywhere so if you're a non-smoker like me, you'll suffer. Location wise is tip top. They are nice. I ordered a lots of items to be sent to hotel. They nicely put my item aside so that i can identify them easily among other many delivered goods.Though i did not use, o think they have laundry facility.Location is right behind wholesale markets and shipping forwarder. Easily can catch taxi.This is my second time stay, and obviously they dis renovate the place. Amount of hot water for shower was super good. Hotel front desk staff is really nice, and cleaning staffs were all nice and said hello to guests.Lots of restaurants in the area, even after midnights. Safe to walk in midnight. Walmart is within 8min walk as well. Only a block away to line 2/8 station. Easy access to two borders to HK. Disappointing points:Shower door does not stop water spread outside. This is a warning to all other people staying at this hotel, my luggage which has 2 locks and metal sides was pried and one of the lock no longer works. I do not know if they managed to pry it open or just one side was pried but 1 of the locks is completely not working. It is lucky that i brought my valuables out of the hotel instead of locking it in my luggage. I did not raise an issue with the staff because i was shopping and returned to the hotel late and had to go to the airport. Nothing was missing except that the lock was damaged. If the hotel wishes to investigate this incident after my review, the room i stayed in was 5006 and i checked out at around 12:30am 20th July. The room is dated but overall it is clean, best thing about this hotel is that it is very near to the electronic malls.
