Pros:- Very good location near shopping mall Shin Kong Place and Eslite bookshop. Overall modern and neat area next to the lake, where one can stroll around in peace.- Space was quite large, bathroom spacious and clean, bed was comfortable and linen good quality. - View was nice.-There is a fridge and kettle and cups. Cons:- Kitchen had zero utensils for cooking, no plates, bowls, cutlery, pans, knife. We asked for things for cooking, they only brought a wok and a spatula. We then noticed the stove was not connected at all, and was purely ornamental. Still nothing for eating on or even a bowl to have cereal. We booked the room with kitchen so we could take a break from eating out and have some simple home cooked food. When we asked for a knife even for cutting some fruit, they said they didn’t provide that to guests. We were very disappointed and decided to shorten our stay for just one night. They accepted our request, which we were very grateful for.-The cleanliness could have been better in the living room and...
Read moreJust came back from Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.
Actually I didn't stay in this hotel, but I have done some survey on the convenience of this hotel.
If you take the metro and get off at Xinghu Street Station, the hotel is just about 300 meter(on the north) walk from the station. No need to call a cab/taxi, it's much easier and time-saving to walk into the hotel than to take a cab. The Hotel is easy access to everything you need: restaurants, shopping centers, etc. The facility around is so newly built and modern. The Jingji Lake adds more comfort to anyone who need relaxation.
The only demerit of this hotel is that this newly developing area of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China around the hotel is full of people from every other part of China, except Suzhou local. And I'm afraid that you would not find authentic local food in the area surrounding this Hotel. Areas around Shiquan Street and Shi Street in Canglang district still dominates the most appealing local...
Read moreThe hotel is close to the Times Square Area, which is convenient for transport and food. Note that in Suzhou everything closes early, ordering at a restaurant after 8pm is difficult. The experience in the hotel was not very good. The rooms are aged, with paint often peeling from the wall. The beds were comfortable, amenities sparse. When we checked in coming from a delayed flight it was 1am. Registering our passports took 30 minutes (not foreigner friendly), after that we entered the room and found that it was not heated, with outside temperatures 3 degrees Celsius. We complained. A person came and looked at our air conditioning and said nothing could be done, we were given a few more blankets. Finally, 2 hours later, the air conditioner finally started to work. When checking out we were surprised that the entire copying of passport episode had to be repeated because of staff mistakes. Generally no English spoken, overall not a very professional or foreigner...
