Xiamen Zhongshan Road Seascape Heyi Hotel — Hotel in Xiamen

Clean room meets expectation but with little smoke smells in the room although non smoking room is requested. Some rooms can see overt the island famous POI oppoaite the sea. Included a simple breakfast in the morning. Seats not really enough in the breakfast room, because no seats or table available during peak hour. The view in the breakfast room is nothing. The hotel located at an excellent location and right next to the walking street in the city centre. Opposite to the sea side. Lots of shops nearby with great variety of food choice and many are delicious. Easy walk to many shopping centres too with supermarket and souvenirs. But although there is a pier opposite to the hotel, visitors or tourist cannot use this pier to go to the island opposite, you must go to the pier specially for tourist to take the ferry to the opposite side. Unfortunately, the day I arrive is going to have typhoon and cannot visit the island due to ferry all stopped due to big wind and approaching typhoon. Another thing I would like to talk about is during the night time, just a few shops for food is still open until later. The hotel is located at a very convenient place, the shopping belt (Zhongshan Road)is just next to the hotel where there are shops and eateries. The bus station for Airport Express bus is about 8 mins walk. There are a few bus stops surrounding the hotel, which makes it very convenient to move around in Xiamen. The ferry terminal to GuLangYu is about 5 mins walk (across the street). The room is clean and spacious. The bathroom is little small. Our room is located on the 6th floor, where the breakfast is being served and it can be quite noisy as the other guests walk and talk along the corridor. Just a note, the air-condition is off during winter time, so do opt for a room with window. Stayed 3 nights in late March in a mini suite (separate bedroom) on 8th floor. Right at start of busy end of Zhongshan Lu, about 100 metre from Jetty to Gulangyi - extremely convenient. Though not seaview room, but balcony on 8th floor lobby gives full view of Gulangyi and harbour front. Room with basic but adequate furnishing and well maintained. Breakfast (included) offered basic range, acceptable except dishes not kept warm, a pity. Front desk and travel counter staff were proactive in helping guests and seeking feedback, not often seen in 3* hotels. Keep it up. For under RMB400, it was value for money.
