This hotel is one of the worst that we had stayed in on our trip to Zhangjiajie. It was booked by the travel agency under a group tour package. The lobby looks huge and spacious, giving the impression that it was going to be a good hotel, but the moment we took the elevator and stepped out to the floors where the rooms were, we knew it was going to be bad. The old carpeted floor in the room was dirty and smelly, and it was dimly lit. The light bulb for one of the lamps had blown and not replaced, and the wallpapering was old and coming off. Read moreI booked here for 2 nights from Xian as it was a weekend and other hotels were full.I read the reviews but thought I would give it a go.The rooms were basic chinese condition.Bed was firm but pillows, shower and room was ok.Had a bath which was a bonus.Free breakfast was usual chinese style but with bacon and scrambled eggs.Had to be there early else it was gone and not replenished. The hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the entrance to the park. What totally put me off was the attitude of the staff behind the counter who could'nt care less about you especially if you could not speak chinese.I tried to get them to help me get a flight to Shanghai as the internet and wifi was very poor.Just said No ! Even tried to get info about the parks but just a blank expressionless response.I moved round the corner to The Royal Hotel which was 5 mins closer to the parks and has restaurants outside the door and a friendly helpful staff behind...
