My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at La Pausa Hotel, and we were absolutely blown away by the remarkable experience it provided. From the moment we stepped foot inside, it was clear that this place was something special.
The hotel's beauty and ambiance left us in awe. The moment we entered our room, we were greeted by an elegant and tastefully decorated space, exuding a sense of tranquility and sophistication. The attention to detail was remarkable, with every aspect of the room thoughtfully curated to ensure comfort and luxury.

Read moreThis is review is for the restaurant at La Pausa Hotel, located next to the Puerto Marina Hotel (which is where we stayed) near Guatape, Colombia. We found the menu and overall food quality to be superior, making it our go-to spot for most meals during our stay.
Ambiance and Amenities: In addition to the delicious food, the restaurant offered fast and consistent Wi-Fi. This convenience made it a great place to relax, enjoy beverages, and catch up online during our downtime.
Drinks and Coffee: Highly impressed: Both the drinks and especially the coffee were excellent.
Food:
Grilled Cheese Sandwich A visually stunning dish! The sandwich, served with a tomato jam and another dipping sauce, arrived presented as a "Parmesan taco" - the bread encased in a crispy parmesan cheese shell. While a bit challenging to eat due to the crumbly cheese, the taste was delicious and the presentation truly impressive.
La Pausa Nachos This dish unfortunately fell short. The pork belly was frustratingly hard to chew, and the absence of guacamole (which we opted out of) left the overall flavor profile lacking. A suggestion for improvement: braised and shredded pork belly would be more enjoyable, along with the addition of sour cream and a flavorful salsa.
Overall: Despite the misstep with the nachos, we highly recommend La Pausa Hotel Restaurant. The excellent drinks, coffee, creative menu, fast Wi-Fi, and inviting atmosphere make it a great choice for dining...
Read moreThis place was gorgeous. About 20 mins away from la Piedra del Peñol, and off the main road to Guatapé. La Pausa Hotelbistró are these gorgeous cabins that were placed near the sides of the water. A beautiful vista of the dam from the balcony, this was a truly gorgeous, and calming sight every morning. Our breakfast was included in the booking and it was phenomenal. The room was nicely furnished with a large, comfortable bed, sofa, closet, and kitchenette, remote automated black put curtain, and wifi. The balcony had a swing chair (idk the name those comfortable egg shaped chairs) a table to enjoy a meal outside, a small fire pit and a personal jacuzzi! The bathroom was also spacious with a waterfall shower. One of the things that I like about the bathroom is that it has its own entrance so that this way you could enter via the bathroom if you’re wet from being in the jacuzzi or from the lake (the dam?). The hotel offers spa services, specifically massages, they set up right on the balcony. The staff were fantastic and really helpful it was a lovely place to...
