To make this short,I arrived at this Hotel Platinum Barranquilla Tuesday 2/15/2022 and asked for a room. The receptionist show me a room and it was 1 star at best but I was tired so I said ok. Then I showed her their price on Booking and she told me it would be 95,000 Colombian pesos not the 65,000 advertised in Booking.com. Finally after 30 or 40 minutes she said the room would be ready at 3pm and this was about 11:30 am. so after 1 hour she said the room was ready and now she took me to the 4th floor with no elevator and it was nothing loike the room on the 2nd floor. Absolutely disgusting accomodations. I was so mad by now that I said I'm going to eat lunch. I was so frustrated I couldn't eat. I went back told them to bring my luggage down (Young guy named Luis). while I'm waiting on Luis I saw someone who looked like a Mgr. (named Jorge or George in english) He said wait he would help me they changed the room to the second but it wasn't much better. Waited on my girlfrien to arrive and when she say the room she almost refused to stay there. We wnet to dinner about 10pm and came back at 11:30. The next mourning we ate breakfast put my luggage in a Taxi and left for The Vallclaire Suites (Nice hotel) I got to the hotel and was looking for my money in my luggage which I knew was there when we went to eat. This place so far has denied any wrong doing but I'm going back with the Police and we'll see what their cameras say. To many problems from the start until the moment I arrived at the other Nice Hotel. I will update this after I return with the Police and report them to every Booking Agency out there. Avoid this place like Covid-19. To Be Continued.... Thank...
Read moreMy recent stay at Hotel Platinum Barranquilla was nothing short of a nightmare. I cannot emphasize enough just how terrible my experience was from start to finish.
Let's start with the condition of the hotel. It's like stepping into a time warp, but not in a charming, retro way. The paint was peeling off the walls, the carpets and floors were stained and threadbare, and the overall ambiance was gloomy and depressing.
The service, or lack thereof, was truly abysmal. The staff appeared disinterested and indifferent, making me feel like an inconvenience rather than a paying guest. It took an eternity to check in, and the front desk attendant seemed more interested in their phone and laughing with other attendants than helping me.
When I finally made it to my room, it was a disaster. The bed was lumpy, the bathroom was a breeding ground for mold and mildew. I couldn't even bring myself to take a proper shower in that grimy environment. It was very dirty. It
In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Platinum Barranquilla was an absolute disaster. The condition of the hotel and the deplorable service left me deeply disappointed and regretful of my decision to book a room there. It's better to stay in the South of Barranquilla than this place. Save yourself the misery and find a different place to stay in Barranquilla. You'll thank me later.

Read moreWhere do I start?! Charging $450,000 a night during carnival for a disgustingly dirty room, with no curtains, no mirrors in the entire room, broken drains in the shower and bathroom, a hole cut out in the super board on the ceiling and then the piece of board just placed back in the hole... over the actual bed. Full on renovations, happening creating noise and unbelievable amount of dust. The 3rd floor of the hotel didn't even exist, it was a building site. And a dangerous one at that! After much frustating conversations with the administrator, we were offered a refund less 30% penalty for cancelling the reservation. Absolutely ridiculous given the state of this place. A disgrace that they even opened for business during renovations but then greed to make big money during the carnival was no doubt greater than their due diligence to their clients. Finally, after 2 hours of "negotiating" a full refund, our money was returned. I have travelled a great deal and honestly, ||||this hotel, for the money charged, has to be the worst place I fortunately didn't stay at. Please...
