Hotel Puerta de Oro — Hotel in Barranquilla

BED BUGS! DONT GO THERE! We spend 2 nights there, the first night we thought we had mosquito bites but there were a bit weird, the second night we got so many bites that we realized we had bed bugs. The mattress was in a terrible condition, without any cover, just the sheet. It has all the signs of bed bugs with dark spots. (Pics attached) I just saw some other reviews of bed bugs and they told me they didn’t have this issue before... We complained heavily and we asked the hotel to wash all our clothes in high temperature. The owner of the hotel didn’t even want to cover this, I heard a conversation with the staff and she said that tourist try to get advantage and wash their clothes for free! In the end they washed our clothes, cover some expenses that we did at the hotel and reimbursed 30% of the booking (it should have been all ...) Apart from that, the bathroom was in really poor condition, no hot water, low pressure and the sink was leaking underneath. Really old hotel and not well preserved. The sound isolation is really bad, you hear people in the hallway like they are in your room. I wouldn’t recommend this...

Looking for glamorous,elegant duds for your stay in barranquilla, this might not be your place.||Here you'll find a clean, central place to stay. Breakfast is typical American style,the pool is a little shallow and certainly not the highlight of this place... It's saving grace is it's people.. The staff right down to the cleaning ladies we lovely. Many spoke English, which certainly helped when asking for directions or suggestions to some of the out of the way eateries. Rooms at the hotel seem to differ, we must have stayed in the old wing, as in some areas where a bit falling apart or the doors didn't touch the frames on all sides, some tiles were cracked.||||This place seemed like a middle of the road hotel, I can say that this place isn't seedy, and a small dog up the street seems kind of vicious but over all it was good for us ( we prefer to spend almost all of our days out an...

Es un hotel básico con un lobby agradable y buena atención de parte del personal. Visitamos Barranquilla para un partido de eliminatorias al mundial y por esta coyuntura los precios estaban más altos que de costumbre. La habitación estaba en un tercer piso y el ascensor es pequeño, lento, ruidoso y viejo. No lo usamos por miedo a quedarnos atrapados. El servicio de botones para subir y bajar las maletas fue muy atento y útil teniendo en cuenta el problema del ascensor. El desayuno incluido es bueno para los estándares normales, huevos, fruta, jamones y quesos, cafe y jugos, todo muy bien de sabor y presentación. Faltaría variedad. Es un hotel seguro y limpio. Las habitaciones son amplias y bien aseadas. La nevera y los closets son viejos, pero funcionales. La zona de la piscina es agradable para desayunar o para relajarse. El aire acondicionado funciona perfectamente y el televisor igual. El hotel también ofrece parqueadero gratuito en un edificio justo en frente al hotel para nada incoveniente y seguro. También hay parquedero para pocos carros en la bahía del hotel pero no es recomendable dejarlo toda la noche. Hotel bien ubicado. El único inconveniente que tuvimos fue que la habitación que nos dieron el huésped anterior se había llevado la llave, lo que nos dio inseguridad. No obstante, solucionaron el problema unas horas después sin incomodidades...
