Monasterio Hostel — Hotel in Cartagena

The fact is that this is the worst hostel in the world, simply the worst hotel on the planet, under no circumstances should you make any reservations, or even think about staying there, because in this hostel the staff and reception exceed their authority. Ahh, he also feels like employees of the migration service and is trying to check all the documents that you have, check your things for the presence of something prohibited and in every possible way will make you feel as uncomfortable as possible plus uh, there are also several very wild dangerous people in this hotel and aggressive dogs that will definitely bite you, as they did to me, and plus this hotel has a very unpleasant smell.

Mosquitoes mold mice rats cockroaches and a very, very unpleasant smell everything is broken, nothing works. Well, of course everything is very expensive, much more expensive than it could cost. Well, the most important thing is that for some reason the hotel staff think that they can ask you any stupid questions about your documents and check all your documents. Although They haven't. And this has no right.

In general, very stupid, narrow-minded people work there. Which will violate your personal space in every possible way and make you feel uncomfortable. Moreover, when I lived there, my money also disappeared while I was staying there, so I recommend that you choose some other hotel in order to enjoy life in this terrible...

Stayed in this hostel for 3 nights in a 10 person dorm room. (With no locker rooms or soap in the bathroom) This place would be ok just for one night if you are looking for a cheap option, but the service was very bad to none. First of all, the staff wasn’t very welcoming. Secondly, we were told that centro histórico was very near, which it wasn’t. We asked some of the staff for direction, and if it was safe to walk as well. The area is located in a poor and dilapidated neighborhood, but we trusted the staff, that said it was totally safe- However, on the way back from town before sunset, several people stopped us, warning us that this street/area was dangerous. Luckily we ran into some helpful people, but it might not be the case for everyone. ||Overall it wasn’t a great experience, so another time I would pay a bit more to stay closer to centrum and in a safer neighberhood. ||Ps if you don’t like dogs, this isn’t a place for you. La habitaciones compartidas tiene aire acondicionado afortunadamente, pero solo en la noche, a las 8am lo desconectan, las sábanas estaban manchadas y el piso lleno de polvo, el baño daba asco entrar parece que hace muchos meses no lo lavan, el lavamanos tiene una costra de algo que parece crema dental petrificada. La cocina es buena para desvararte y cocinar, pero igual que el baño el aseo es pésimo, dónde se ponen a cecar los platos es una superficie totalmente cubierta de moho de color negro.

Además en el hostal tienen una perrita que no es agresiva pero si es ladrona, un día fuimos a cocinar dejamos una bolsa con huevos en el mesón de la cocina mientras salíamos a comprar café, mantequilla, pan y rancheras... Para cuando regresamos los huevos los estaban y no sospechamos nada, salimos esta vez por los huevos y cuando regresamos no había nada de lo que compramos antes, todo se lo había comido la perra, nadie nos dijo nada de que había que tener cuidado de eso y nadie nos respondió por ese daño.

La persona que atiende la recepción es totalmente apática, amargada, asocial... Un consejo que les doy es que no pierdan siquiera el tiempo saludándolo, sólo los ignorara cada vez que lo hagan.. Se nota que odia su trabajo, hay que pedir permiso cada que vas a salir o a entrar y rezar porque que te habrán, estuvimos dos noches en las que afortunadamente pagamos cada mañana, en la última noche salimos y olvidamos pagar el día siguiente... En la noche que llegamos habían retirado nuestras cosas de la habitación y nos dijeron que nos fuéramos, que ya no tenían espacio.. Así sin más, entiendo que es negocio pero si llegamos el primer día diciendo que vamos a quedarnos 3 noches es de suponer que eso vamos a realizar, tuvimos que buscar hoteles por Internet para poder ubicarnos, el problema fue con el taxi tuvimos que buscar 1hr...y ni siquiera después de vernos cansados y con sueño fue capaz de ayudarnos a pedir un taxi local... Le preguntamos porque hizo eso y nos dejó sin cama.. A lo que respondió "yo tengo dónde dormir, y ustedes??"... Esa respuesta es increíble y da saber un poco de la calidad de persona y servicio que ofrece ese hostal de mala muerte...

A una compañera la dejaron por fuera del Hotel toda la noche y tuvo que buscar otro lugar para dormir a media noche sólo por llegar a las 11:20pm...y así sin más no le abrian ni siquiera timbrando y golpeando duro la puerta (eso fue lo que nos dijo en la mañana siguiente).

El sector en que se ubica es feo y se aprecia peligroso... Nada agradable... Pero son cosas que créanme que se pasarían por alto si por lo menos se tuviese buen servicio.
