Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience – Request for Manager Contact
I recently stayed at La Quinta by Wyndham Medellin, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I encountered several issues during my stay that significantly impacted my comfort and peace of mind, especially considering I was in Medellin for medical treatment.
WiFi Issues: I spent the entire day without WiFi, which was extremely frustrating. When I requested assistance and asked to speak with the manager, I was unable to get a response or resolution. Electricity Outages: The electricity went out three times throughout the night in the entire hotel, causing significant discomfort. No Iron Available: There was no iron available in the room, and when I asked, I received no assistance. Unprofessional Staff: Despite numerous requests to speak with the manager, the back-office staff was unhelpful and refused to facilitate communication with the manager. The woman I interacted with was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. This experience caused me a lot of unnecessary stress, particularly as I was here for medical treatment. I am deeply disappointed in the lack of customer service and the response from the hotel staff. I would appreciate it if a manager could contact me to address these concerns and offer a resolution.

Read moreDefinitely not four star but would be an excellent three star. Why? Read on...||I tried three times to request an airport pickup from the hotel and I was not acknowledged.||The check in/out staff and managers were very friendly but hospitality at times literally walked away from me. My Spanish isn't great, understandably neither is their English but walking away isn't good customer service. There must be a middle ground?||Breakfast was ok but somewhat tasteless and the selection is much more three star than four star. Cereals, fruit, boiled eggs, rice, scrambled eggs and breads. Perfectly edible but basic and simple.||It's located a bit outside tourist spots and is clean, though reception furniture could do with updating (tables on castors?!). As I say, would be a top three star hotel but is disappointing as a four star. The noise was awful. On my floor someone was playing music loud enough for all to hear with doors closed and I could hear everything the people in the room next to me were doing....right into the early hours. I didn't complain as I feel they paid the same and have a right to use the room however they want but the hotel should look at the sound proofing options. ||I'd probably try somewhere new when I return. The pricing isn't competitive enough to sway me to return even though my stay was...
Read moreOur stay at this hotel was last November 2018 and we had a fantastic stay! The staff was very helpful. We were given an option of staying in a bigger room with a partial view of the city or a smaller corner room with a view. We chose the smaller room and it was totally worth it.
The hotel is a newer hotel. The room we stayed in was clean. The WiFi was spotty but it got fixed for us almost immediately. Breakfast was good. There were enough options for different tastes. They have a nice pool and bar area. It’s small but we didn’t even get to dip in the pool so that didn’t matter. I’m sure it’s enough for some people. There is a gym and it was clean every time I went (to get water, no time to workout!).
One tip is that you have to book the room with the correct number of guests. It was my fault for not checking at booking so the hotel does not deserve to be dropped by 1 star even if they didn’t give me leeway. It seems to be the standard in Colombia, not just this hotel. I now know the next time I come back to the awesome city...
