This was an absolute paradise. My partner had taken me here as a Birthday treat + a good refuge before and after our Paramillio del Quindio - Quindio Norte hike. This lodge is heaven on Earth with Ed and his mother in law running the place. Ed has built everything by hand. The rooms are equipped with hot showers, comfortable - clean beds, clean towels, solar powered lights, heating, and beautiful decor he hand made. There is drinking water on premise which is accessible 24/7. He is a very responsive host and does his best to make you feel at home.
The lodge has beautiful flowers, a stunning viewpoint at the top of the hill overlooking the stone bridge, and access to the clean river at the bottom. Great for a cold dip after a sunrise view ( or dip before a sunset view). His mother in law makes the best dinners and dining by the fireplace is very very cozy. He has 3 dogs who will become your best friends very quickly. They are well behaved and cuddly.
We left our stuff with him when we went for our overnight trek to the mountains and coming back to his lodge after our hike was honestly the best.
If you have the pleasure of dining with Ed during your nights there - ask him about his time in...

The property is peaceful, stunning, with a river for a cold dip running through! You can see some amazing birds in the garden. You can smell the exotic flowers. You will be welcomed by the friendliest dogs you can imagine and they will keep you company throughout your stay (play a ‘throw a rock in the river’ game with Apollo for us! If you miss or crave homemade meals, you won’t find anything better than Orfa’s breakfast and dinner! Now to make sure you can truly enjoy your stay - make plans for getting back and forth from Salento - it’s a super cheap $2,000 (pesos) ride to get there when you flag a car or a bus passing by (Uber is way too pricey). You can even catch a bus to Pereira, etc. a 10 minute walk from the Ecolodge. Ed, the owner, is a great and caring guest with a ton of charisma. The rooms are simple, clean, and nicely decorated. You CAN drink...
Read moreStayed here for a week this year, it was by far the best place we stayed during our time in Colombia. It’s Just outside of salento so it’s quiet and peaceful but still very easy to get into town or find a restaurant nearby. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there’s a great communal kitchen and dining room. The property is beautiful with flowers and trees everywhere and a river running down the side. The family that runs it is very friendly and helpful, I highly recommend you stay here if you...
