We arrived at Posada stingray at approx. 22:30. We had given over 24 hours prior notice of our late arrival and had received email communication from the hotel, regarding an airport transfer. They were unable to provide airport pick up so we got a taxi costing 15,000 COP (approx. $9).||||When we arrived we were eventually greeted by Monica and Kimberly who showed us to room number 10. Kimberley wished us a good night and said we could get the keys in the morning, however, we had not eaten and had no drinks so when we explained this Monica got the keys and Kimberley tried to direct us to a shop.||||The next day we were woken at 8.30 by the manager knocking on our door. She asked to see our booking reference but we had not been given the WiFi code so had to go downstairs to get it. The manager was quite abrupt, unprofessional and a little confrontational, claiming she had no idea who had been communicating with us via the hotels email. ||||She told us that we had been put in the wrong room and would have to move downstairs or pay extra for A/C. We decided to plump for the room we had originally booked for 90,000 COP per night, with fan and balcony. ||||This was not a problem for us, however, the room that we had booked had been let to someone else and they were still in it. We were told we would have to wait until 3pm to check in to the room we had originally booked but had to move out of room 10 immediately. When staying somewhere for 2 nights this is just hassle you don't need and meant that we couldn't really get on with our day as planned. On top of that we saw the visitor leave our booked room at around midday and when we returned at 14.30 it still had not been cleaned. ||||Posada stingray is a very poorly run business and it appears that this is mainly due to the manager, who was unable to tell us who had been communicating with us by email on behalf of the hotel, and even though the scheduled flights arrive in the morning and evening cannot manage to organize guests rooms and arrivals, even with prior warning.||||The rooms are comfortable and Monica and Kimberley tried their best with...
Read moreSo I booked a two bedroom apartment which was supposed to have a lounge area with a sofa and also a fully equipped kitchen. When I arrived I found it was actually a one bedroom apartment and what should have been the lounge was actually the "2nd bedroom" as they called it. Essentially they put bunkbeds in the open living room kitchen area so there is no where to sit and relax. Regarding the "Fully equipped" kitchen it was a microwave, a sandwich toaster and a very dirty metal sink that you wouldn't want to wash anything in. Understandably I was really not happy with this. I spoke to the owner Diana and she basically didn't care and said that it was as described except it really wasn't. At this stage I was alone as my friends were on a later flight and she kept trying to get me to sign something and had some guy with her too so I felt quite threatened. I wanted to speak to my friends so she said she would come back when they arrived and then left me alone in the apartment without a key for the door for 4 hours so I couldn't go anywhere. My friends arrived and spoke to her also saying it was not as described and at first she was saying if we cancelled we would have to pay 50% of the booking. We started taking photos of the place so she rang her son and then said that they agreed if we stayed one night and paid the one nights fee we could leave and they wouldn't charge us. We were happy with that and moved to a place down the street. I then found that they had still gone ahead and charged my card with the money even though we had agreed that there would be no more charges. Do not stay here, apart from the apartment being not as described and the horrible kitchen they are not to be trusted. Also the wifi does not work well. If you are looking for something in this are then stay in Karabik Haus which is just on the next block and is a lovely hostel. It is only small with two private rooms (of which we took one) and two dorms and also the owner is really nice and friendly. They also make great breakfast in their...
Read moreAt first, we got a bright room without A/C. It wasn't too hot and we had a really nice balcony, but we found a cockroach there. Then, we moved to a smaller room with A/C, although it was a little dark and noisy. |+: Diana, the owner, was very helpful and she was there when some little problems happened. There's a grocery store just under the posada. You can walk 20 min to downtown, where you can shop and find the best restaurants.|-: The kitchen is messy and gross. We thought that we could go there and have breakfast but we changed our minds. We also found a cockroach there. There's no reception there so if you have a problem you have to contact Diana by whatsapp and wait for her answer (you never know if she is there or not). The Wifi connection didn't work very well. |Around the corner, there's a really nice place where you can have an amazing breakfast. And it's really cheap and tasteful.|Bottom line, it's a well located posada and if you're not willing to spend a lot of money, you...
