Lovely hostel/guesthouse for an unbeatable price. |The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to help despite the language barrier. We arrived early after a night bus and were given early check in free of charge. |The bed was comfortable, if slightly creaky. Good strong fan in the room.|Everything was spotless. The bathrooms were cleaned multiple times a day. |The pool was a great addition to cool off in. |The hostel has an abundance of animals to meet and play with. There are 3 dogs, a cat, 2 tortoises and goats. |Location was great, just a straight, flat walk to the main plaza. Safe area, in fact everywhere we explored in San Gil felt safe, even in the evenings. |We would have stayed longer but had to continue on to our next booking. Highly recommend staying here. It's a great spot to join in on the many adventure sports San Gil has to offer or just relax...
Read moreI booked through hostel world 3 days before our stay, when we arrived lady at reception told us that our reservation should of not been booked as they don’t work with hostel world anymore and that’s what we used to book it. But now I can’t leave a review on hostel world not sure why. So to sum up I arrived at my hostel with them telling me my reservation is not there and ended up looking for a new place to stay last minute. Price £7 for a night for two people in private room in green door hostel sounded to good to be true. So I am not sure if that woman gave my room for more to someone else or she was genuine and it was Hostelworld mistake but she did try to help with finding new...
Read moreDecent common area. I recommend not staying in the dorms. white mold on ceiling over shower/dorm as ventilation is non existing. One of the 3 people working the reception showed us to our specific beds which were bottoms. Then they had us move beds 4 hours after arrival, from bottoms to tops. No one arrived during the night to use them. Which was a slap to the face after weeks of straight tops. No WiFi in dorms (well there is if you count barely a bar as WiFi) Met some friends there which were on the way out and asked them where they're off to next, answered with "another hostel good luck getting some sleep."
Tldr: if you want to stay here, choose the private rooms, they're probably alright. Common area...
