HOSTEL SANTANDER ALEMAN - CASA COLONIAL EN SAN GIL — Hotel in San Gil

Iván is the concierge, breakfast cook and housekeeper extrodinaire. He helped book paragliding and rafting trips with pick ups from the hotel. He taught himself English 8 years ago only using a dictionary and an enthusiasm for his job. They have a laundry service, the laundry smelled nice, faintly like cinnamon. The location is close to the river, the park and the plaza. You get exercise wherever you walk in San Gil so don’t worry about reviews saying it’s steep, all of Santander is steep. San Gil is not a destination for foodies but we enjoyed the street food in the square. ||||We stayed at Aleman for two nights then went to Baricharra and then returned to Aleman for three nights. Baricharra had more options for dinning and slowing life down to a snails pace. But there is a really nice restaurant next to the Aleman called El Mana with typical Colombian food and seemingly endless fresh juice refills. ||||The hotel was really clean, has a kitchen area for guests and has a nice balcony with views of the mountains and a hammock.||||This is a tip for the middle age, motion sickness folks and less adrenaline junkies. The rio Fonce rafting is near by, a shorter trip and way less intense than rio Saurez. We did paragliding in Villa Nueva so we didn’t have to be in the car for a total of 3 hours to the top of Chicamocha. Colchón incómodo, atención al cliente pésima: los funcionarios exigen, no dialogan. No te escuchan. No tienen parqueadero propio.

Un gerente más preocupado por responder reseñas en las que piden mejorar su atención, qué por mejorar el servicio ofrecido está condenado a repetir la misma historia:clientes insatisfechos,reseñas pésimas, respuesta a la reseña de los clientes para justificarse. No lo recomiendo, aledaño al sector encuentran muchos hostales más.

EDITADO DESDE AQUÍ POR RESPUESTA DEL HOSTEL.

La señora que inicialmente me atiende al momento de hacer checking me responde a todo: "si, pues es que yo no se". A esa misma señora le deje claro que si había cualquier inconveniente lo hablábamos luego, por que ella afirmo que no sabia. Cuando vuelvo de ir a cenar, hay otra señora en recepción que me dice que debo pagar la multa, le dejo saber que el inconveniente se presenta a partir del cambio de mis tiquetes, me ofrezco a mostrárselos pero ¡ojo! ella es quien se niega a que lo haga y lo único que le interesa es la plata, hay arranca su altanería. Según ella (que en ningún momento se mostró como la administradora) es por que el gerente se lo descuenta a ella si no lo cobra, entonces le dije, bueno pero : "hay manera de decir las cosas". No me tiene que levantar la voz. ME ENCANTARIA que tu respuesta, venga con el soporte de la reserva hecha por mi en otro hostal. No hay que mentir para mantenerse. El propósito de esto, es mejorar. Sea por una noche, por dos, un parqueadero es necesario. Actualizarse también, te cuento que el los aeropuertos puedes rentar carros y este fue mi caso. ( servicio : localiza) No buscaba ahorrarme $35.000, tampoco pretendía hacerlos quedar tan mal, ese no es mi estilo, pero ante su juicio de cliente toxico y mentiroso, no me voy a quedar callada, la gente tiene que saber que no esta bien el servicio que están prestando.

La gente tiene que saber que merece servicios de calidad, y obvio, mi opinión de que hay hostales aledaños mas bonitos se presta para que armen tremenda calumnia, creo que ese mismo potencial de creatividad para mentir, es el que deben usar para mejorar.

This hostel i would not recommend , they told me they had hot water but it was a lie ,they said they had cable but they only had national channels and religious channels , plus if you want to have a good morning sleep ,this is not the place cause the hostel is right beside a Catholic church that at 5 am you will start hearing the sound of the church bell . I wanted to buy bottle of water they had non , I requested to have bottle of water in the morning and I would pay for it and they still had no bottle of water .
