Eco Hotel Inka Minka — Hotel in Santa Marta

We were 5 people, and 3 booked rooms with breakfast included. ||I must start telling you that this IS NOT A HOTEL. It's a FINCA (farm), and DOES NOT HAVE A SPA ! ! It has a swimming pool.||Location: middle of nowhere. If you are looking for a place to relax this is probably a good place, however it has many big BUTs and many red flags. There is nothing in the property, you must go out to eat, you must walk 10 to 15 minutes to the main road where you can find a restaurant. IT IS NOT close to Minca, Santa Marta is actually closer than Minca. ||Staff: In plain words. SUCKS.  These people do not care at all. They did not even know we were coming, even though reservation was made more than a month before arriving.  When we arrived we were offered "lunch" but when we asked for it. We were told that we must buy everything and the kitchen was open for us to use.  A Dutch guy was leaving the property because of the nonsess; when we were confused about the lunch. He was the one who told us about the restaurant because the staff did not.  We waited for a long time for the rooms, and when they finally gave us the rooms, the rooms were not ready. A/C DID NOT WORK AT ALL.||Breakfast: When I was looking at the different properties I only looked for those offering breakfast included. When we arrived I asked about it and I was told that it was not. I contacted Expedia about it and they did agree with me about the breakfast included and contacted the property to sort this issue.  4 hours after the owner showed up and told us once again that breakfast was not included, but as a "courtesy" they shall provide the breakfast.  We were asked what time we would like to have breakfast which we all replied at 7 am because we would leave the property before 9 am.  Breakfast came pretty much at 9:40.||To sum up, It's an incredible finca, very beautiful.  I believe the price is a little high due to the management nonsense. ||Unfortunately, staff and management...

would suggest avoiding this “hotel”. Honestly don’t believe the 5* reviews!?

Disliked · •asked to check in early, was told this was fine, waited hours for room to be ready. •room was not clean, asked to be cleaned twice, it still wasn’t. There was feces all over the toilet, the shower was dirty, left over stuff from previous gusts still in the bathroom, no toilet roll and no towels provided. •I found things left behind by the previous guest in the room too, once again showing it had not been cleaned. •the room felt so damp and cold, struggled to changed the a/c settings. •the owner was more occupied with playing pool rather than helping me and I had to ask 5 times for a key to my room. •there was no welcome drink •no spa facilities •the pool had green algae all on the bottom of it • they don’t have a food menu • the food I ordered was extremely salty. •the woman tried to charge me extra for food when I was leaving •there’s no tours or anything offered at the “hotel” •they didn’t even try to help me with transport to Minca or anything •I ended up checking out a day early as I was just feeling such an awkward “vibe” at the “hotel”. •also the cost of the taxi back to the bus terminal went up by 20% when I was collected compared to what I was told the night before.

I genuinely feel although the price paid for this hotel was awful for what was provided (nothing!!) I would suggest avoiding as it’s definitely not as advertised

I was ill for days after...

Do NOT go to this hotel!!!! I just was attacked while sleeping in a hammock by their 2 Macaws! They said that they weren't theirs but the pictures show them there. I have severe bites on both my hands as I am trying to defend myself. The owner and staff wouldn't even call a Taxi for me to leave. If this isn't bad enough...I had flying ants in my bed at night. No hot water. No wi fi. The pool is full of bugs. They speak zero English and we're super rude the entire time even before I was bitten. Please avoid...
