A Memorable Stay at Sokala Villas in Rarotonga We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Sokala Villas in Rarotonga, and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a huge bowl of fresh local fruit, bottles of sparkling water, juice, and a well-stocked fridge with coffee and tea. The exceptionally welcoming and friendly staff made us feel at home right away.

Exceptional Accommodation and Flexibility We found the staff to be exceptionally accommodating and flexible. When we had to extend our stay due to canceled flights caused by stormy weather, the Sokala manager Lawrence and the admin team went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home during our extended stay. For those arriving on the night plane, the ease of entry is seamless, thanks to the staff's accommodating and flexible nature.

The villas are fairly private and located right on the beach, offering breathtaking views over the beautiful Muri Lagoon. The log villas are equipped with everything you need, including cooking facilities, making our stay even more convenient and enjoyable.

Sokala Villas provided us with a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and paradise-like surroundings. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway...

I see this place has plenty of 5 star reviews, so maybe (I hope) mine is an edge case, but: I have been waiting for months to receive a refund for a cancellation. These people don’t respond to emails. Before I had to cancel, I tried changing the dates of my reservation and never received any response. Then, many weeks later I asked to cancel and sent many follow-up emails because they do not respond. Finally, after many weeks and many more follow-ups, I finally receive confirmation of my cancellation and was told I’d be refunded my $500 deposit less a $100 fee; but I’m going on three months and have still not received the money and they aren’t responding to me. I do not recommend booking with these people if you think there is any chance you might need to make any changes to your reservation, because they do not respond. Literally the worst communication I’ve ever experienced, I feel like I’m being scammed and they’re not honoring their cancellation policy. The villas look nice, but given my experience, I recommend looking elsewhere. I hope the management will see this review and give me my money back, as they said they would in the one email response I ever...

Sokala villas are perfectly located just meters off the beach and you can use the kayaks to get to the different islands in the lagoon or go snorkelling along the beach. There is quite a current going outside because of the proximity to the outlet from the lagoon so it is better to swim and snorkel further up along the beach. The villas are a bit worn but on the other hand, the price is much more reasonable than some of the flash resorts. Lawrence and his crew are awesome hosts, they will help with anything you need! We had two great weeks here, the dogs on the beach are a special experience, loved playing with them and they jumped on the kayak for a free ride to the island. If you enjoy being in a quiet setting this is the place but still very close to the bars and restaurants...
