Just across the road from where we are staying this spot was where we landed for dinner the first night we arrived. What a great choice. We had the tuna sandwich, chicken tacos and potato bravas. The tuna was the best I’ve had. Tender, tasty and in a soft Turkish bread sandwich. Yum. The chicken in the tacos was so crispy and also soft and melt in your mouth. The sauce gave a nice zing. Potatoes were delish with a spicy tomato sauce and aioli on top. Nice to get something different from fries. All 3 cost NZD44 which we thought was excellent. And, we found you can byo. There is a dairy to buy wine and an atm for cash only payments here, right across the road. We will return. Recommend this great spot.

Honestly, what an absolute treat to stumble upon Takitumu Tapas in Titikaveka! We arrived with typical island-holiday expectations—good food, but nothing extraordinary. Boy, were we wrong! The tapas are an great fusion of local flavors and every dish was a star. The staff were really nice even though it was very busy when we arrived they made us feel right a home. The scene was buzzy yet relaxed, and the fact that you can BYO (with a handy shop nearby!) just adds to the relaxed island vibe. We chatted with fellow diners throughout the evening, and everyone was raving about their experience. Takitumu Tapas was a highlight of our Rarotonga trip. PS great music as well ---

10/10 - we got the tasting platter which was simply phenomenal. Great taste, textures & very well thought out. An absolute delight. We switched the pork tacos to tuna tacos & it was a superb tasting decision. We had live music too which added to the lovely warm relaxing atmosphere. The waiting staff were brilliant, despite the number of rude entitled elderly customers there. Don’t let that put you off though, it’s been the best food we’ve tasted and reasonable prices too. We will go back again for sure.

Phenomenal! That's not a phrase I use lightly. I was recommended this place by a colleague and it didn't disappoint.

Excellent staff, delicious food. We had the tasting platter like so many others. Our server was enthusiastic to walk us through it all. It was all delicious, we may well visit again before the end of our holiday.

We went on a Wednesday evening (15th October 2025). Despite being mid week, they had an absolutely awesome singer with a beautiful voice.

Generally, I would avoid somewhere with music as loud as it was; for easy dinner conversation. Our conversation become about how good the food and entertainment was.

This wasn't just our own thoughts, very clearly many other patrons thought the same. People sat and waited to the end of his set before leaving. Many people left him tips.

Of course, can't guarantee you'll get the same experience as we did. If not, the food and service will hopefully be just as good.

Had lunch here on Sunday - it was one of the few places open so that was a tick for them.

Our group had a tuna sandwich, chicken sandwich and 2x fried chicken pieces.

The sandwiches were very good. The chicken pieces said 5x each. One person got 5, the other got 4. So a bit disappointing there. But he didn't want to make a fuss and tell them. But the taste was good.

We also got 2x sides of chips. They were tiny, definitely not value for money. Especially as some other places on the island gave 2-4 times as much for the same price.

The seating was ok, but a bit too close to the road really.

Overall it was pretty good. I wouldn't rush back, but if I was around again on Sunday I would...
