A lovely surprise and the best decision to stay in Bahia Drake! We worried a bit upon arrival, because at first sight it looked like a building site. It turned out the original accommodation was too close to the ocean, so the owner had to rebuild his whole house and hotel. He’s building the rooms one by one. At the moment of writing he has two rooms finished. Both spacious, clean, including a ceiling van and a fridge and they both have the best ocean views of the whole town. There is a nice sitting aria in front of the rooms with super comfortable chairs; the perfect place to rest and enjoy the relaxing sounds of the ocean. The beds are extremely soft and comfortable (other then I read in earlier reviews, so they must have gotten new mattresses). The owner is very helpful and friendly. He tries to do everything in his power to make you feel welcome, including some romantic candlelight after sunset :). He helped us perfectly with explaining the specifics of the aria and arranging tours. The WiFi worked perfectly. It’s just a two minute walk to get to a supermarket and some restaurants. There was really nothing to complain. We hope they can build the other rooms asap so more people can...
Read moreStayed here for 2 nights. Really very clean, coffee machine (although the owner also made us coffee In the morning with a cake as well as after a snorkeling tour- which they organised for us). Their son Bernie who works at the school speaks excellent English if you can't spanglish your way along with his dad! There are only 2 rooms at the moment but you have an array of seating options on the balcony along with a washing line (which to be honest is pointless because the humidity makes drying anything impossible!!).|We enjoyed our stay here and felt very relaxed along with their three adorable dogs. Could see iguanas and a plethora of birds from the balcony too which was cool!|Bernie also contacted the water taxi so that they came right to our hotel (the beach in front) so we spent have to lug our bags...
Read moreComfortable lodge right on the beach. Equipped with ceiling fan, fridge, shower with hot and cold water. Not that we ever wanted hot water! Owned by lovely family who welcomed us with refreshing iced fruit tea on their veranda when we first arrived. Could not be closer to the sea! Our family took advantage of us in our beach centre here whilst the rest stayed next to the rainforest at nearby Hotel Mohagine. It was a great way of getting the best out of Drake Bay if you're travelling as a group. We were also ideally placed for tours to Corcavado and snorkelling as boats leave from nearby...
