DO NOT STAY HERE. Writing my first ever negative review because of the awful experience my partner and I had staying here. We planned to stay for two nights, camping in a roof top tent. When we arrived, the owner was very friendly and welcoming and told us to pay his wife 20,000 colons for the two nights whenever we had finished setting up. By the time we returned from setting up, the owner and his wife were not there. The next morning, we did not see them before we left for a hike for the day. When we came back that afternoon the owner was acting completely differently and seemed intoxicated in some way because of how he was moving and speaking - he came running up to us and said "hey you got my money" and we said yes of course and handed him the 20,000 colon bill straight away. 2 minutes later, he came back up to us and said "hey where's my money?!". We told him that we had just paid him and he said that he didn't remember that and left. He came back 2 minutes later and said "you need to pay me". We told him we already had. He asked how much we paid him and when we said 20,000 colons, he said "give me another 20". When we said "no, we've already paid you", he walked off and sat behind a row of bushes, staring at us and muttering. He then walked off in the direction of our car. We decided that we didn't feel comfortable staying and would leave so we went to our car to pack up. When we got there, we saw the owner pulling up his shorts right next to our car before he walked off the property onto the street. When we looked at the car, we saw that HE HAD SPAT AND URINATED ON OUR CAR IN 3 DIFFERENT PLACES. We left straight away, having paid for 2 nights and...
Read morelast year we spent two brilliant weeks in Drake Bay. We were able to get the first guests the great Cabina, which has a private bathroom and a toilet. The interior of cabina is spacious, made the furniture from wood of the region and the luxury of a refrigerator, we also have appreciated. Very convenient in the private terrace overlooking the jungle. The Cabina stands on a limited area with further 3 cabinas different design. All this is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The plants form a natural fence to the other houses, so you do not "peeps on the plate" directly. Between the cabanas is a washhouse with showers and toilets and a washing machine. The site is located above the beach about 250m, you walk comfortably along the road down to the beach, restaurants are nearby, shopping there is easy access to the village. Subdivision is the parque national Corcovado. The team of the Hotel mohagine can give great advice on what sights you should not miss. But a ride on the water taxi is a little sensation, one can observe macaws Black Vulture come the morning to the natural beach, hermit crabs cross the path. Iguanas and toads are also sufficient. Not to mention the whales watching in September. and other birds and butterflies. Overall, we were four weeks in Costa Rica and have the country crisscross traveled with a rented car. Drake Bay was between our homestation. And very especially in this region, tourism is still...

Bahia Drake is one of the most biodiverse places on earth, and both on land and by sea one can witness its manifold animals and plants.
Mohagine makes a perfect place to enjoy the peninsula, and as soon as you enter the Finca area you feel like in paradise. Macaws, Tucans, howler monkeys, morpheus butterflies as well as many other birds and insects are regular visitors. In the morning and in the evening the sounds make you feel like in the deep jungle , however you are actually in 5 mins walking distance of supermarkets and restaurants. Common areas such as banos and kitchen are kept spotlessly clean and have everything one needs.
Ana & Gio are fantastic hosts which try everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We camped in our tent for 6 days and enjoyed their company a lot. Even better, Ana is a diving instructor as well and we had a fabulous dive with her where we saw mantas, sharks, turtles and lots of fish.
