Lapoint Surf Camp Costa Rica - Santa Teresa — Hotel in Cóbano

It's actually really in boho surf Santa Teresa but who cares, about anything, like everything in this laid back paradise......||The bungalows are beautifully appointed, better than the photos to be honest with lots of space, crisp white linen and an amazing cleaning team that could even handle my teenage kids clothes hurling skills and made our place immaculate everyday.||We went low season so there was no bar or restaurant in the evening but ST is teeming with great ones just 100m up the brown lumpy thing that passes as a road. It's also just a short stroll past the howler monkeys to the beach and the rock pools that Annabelle and Chocolate her friendly dog can point you to.||Breakfast was great with a big plate of fruit, great Costa Rican coffee and a good range of al a cartel choices which was a real pleasure after weeks of hotel buffets. Having said that, the kids had the quesadilla every single day after tasting them once - totally devine. ||The pool is simple but perfect temperature and quiet with a water feature and plenty sun beds as well as thoughtful and cool curtained sofa areas where we pink Brits can shade from the full sun when needed and listen to the cool and eclectic music that again wax a real joy after the hotel piped junk!||The Place organised trips for us - fishing in kayaks with Martin and Pablo which was brilliant - as everyone who knows me knows, I got a whopper, see below. Also surfing with Lolo, horse riding on the beach and atv hire which is a must do. ||What was great however is that they weren't hotel trip pimps - they got us great deals with people they knew and trusted. It's a small place and they've chosen wisely as every trip was chilled, hassle free and great value, arranged only when asked for, not sold. That's rare.||thank you for a very special few days. LaPoint Costa Rica was one of the best weeks of my life! I cannot say enough good things about the camp and the staff.

The atmosphere is truly unlike anything I have experienced. It is both relaxing and energizing & social yet comfortable for solitude. Although it appears simple, it's obvious is that the layout, design, menu and hiring processes are very intentional. The rooms are kept clean, the food is delicious and the staff are incredibly enjoyable to be around.

As for the structure, the surf lessons and instructors are equally skilled, passionate and friendly. In addition to surfing, there are many activities to participate in throughout the week. Each is fun, but there is no pressure to participate or separation between those who do and those who don't. Each camper and staff member are kind, down to earth and fun to be around, creating an environment perfect for any type of traveler.

Wir haben erst 5 Naechte in der Villa gewohnt und sind dann in einen Bungalow (Africa) umgezogen. Die Bungalows sind sehr schoen eingerichtet und sehr geraeumig. Der kleine Kuehlschrank (Minibar) ist prima um Getraenke zu kuehlen. Das Bad ist nur mit einer Schwingtuer getrennt, so dass man dort keine komplette Privatspaehre hat. Bungalows sind schoener eingerichtet, prima mit A/C und Deckenventilator. Die Villa hat zwei Schlafzimmer (ein Doppel- und 2 Twin-Betten und 2 Baeder. Der Vorteil der Villa, man ist etwas abseits und hat draussen einen Tisch mit Deckenventilator und Licht, sowie 2 sehr gemuetliche Tagesbetten. Die Bungalows haben nur 2 kleine Stuehle und keine richtige Sitzflaeche, dafuer kann man die Aussenkueche nutzen, hat dort auch Sitzgelegenheit und am Pool gibt es ausreichend Liegen. Da wir fast die einzigen Gaeste zu dieser Zeit waren, war das fuer uns perfekt. Der Pool ist toll und man hat auch 2 praktische Aussenduschen. ||||Staff - insbesondere Candice und Monica - war super. Sehr hilfsbereit, super Tipps und immer freundlich. Das Fruehstueck war der Hit -insbesondere die Pancakes mit Banane und Nutella, der Mango/Wasser-Smoothie und das Omlett! Man muss das Fruehstueck extra zahlen, die Preise sind fair und wie gesagt - tolle Auswahl und extrem lecker!||||Mal Pais ist seh Laid-Back und besteht ueberwiegend aus einer -in der Tat staubigen Strasse. Gerade das machte fuer uns diesen urspruenglichen und nicht so touristischen Charme aus. The Place liegt etwas abseits der Hauptgeschaefte und ist deshalb sehr ruhig. Zum Strand und zu den Geschaeften sind es aber nur 5 Min zu Fuss. Es gibt ein paar sehr gute fusslaefige Restaurants - die Tipps von Candice waren alle super. Es gibt einige Suoermaerkte und das Highlight ein kleiner Fischmarkt, wo man fast jeden Tag leckeren frischen Fisch kaufen kann, bei einem bezaubernden franzoesischen Ehepaar. Wir haben ueberwiegend selber gekocht.||||Fuer uns war Mal Pais zum Surfen und relaxen perfekt. Idealerweise hat man ein Auto (4x4), so kann man auch gut zu anderen Straenden und nach Montezuma fahren. Da wir Longboarder sind, war der Strand con Playa Carmen fuer uns zum Surfen nicht so perfekt. Dank unserem super Surflehrer -Lolo, den Candice uns empfohlen hat, haben wir direkt am ersten Tag den fuer uns perfekten Surfspot gefunden - mit Auto kein Problem. ||||Insekten gibt es natuerlich viele, das sollte in Costa Ruca aber nicht wirklich ueberraschen! Insbesondere, wenn man draussen kocht und isst, bleibt man nicht verschont.nwir fanden es ertraeglich, ist aber sicher eine Frage von Einstellung und Erwartungshaltung. Wir hatten auch in der Villa und im Bungalow Ameisen, aber alles im ertraeglichen Rahmen. ||||Alles in allem, koennen wir The Place absolut empfehlen!
