⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Exceptional Coffee and Hospitality at The Roastery in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. The Roastery is a standout café, and first as you drive into the strip. Offering exceptional coffee and hospitality that has garnered a stellar reputation among locals and tourists alike. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by friendly staff who go above and beyond to make your experience memorable. The owner's warm welcome adds to the inviting atmosphere of the café. The coffee here is a true delight, often touted as the best in town. Locally sourced beans are expertly roasted on-site, resulting in a rich and flavorful cup that satisfies even the most discerning coffee aficionados. Also, the BELT breakfast bagel and oatmeal honey cookie are 🤤 Cleanliness is a top priority at The Roastery. The café's interior is well-maintained, creating a cozy ambiance for enjoying your coffee either indoors or outdoors. Overall, The Roastery is a must-visit for coffee lovers seeking delicious brews, friendly service, and a clean, welcoming environment. My husband and I came to Santa Teresa as chefs for a client he works for in Houston. My husband loves coffee and after researching local places, we chose to visit The Roastery. I'm so glad we did! I only wish we had gone sooner. We met the owner, Irene, and she was so generous with information about where to get the best produce and freshest ingredients in the area. The educational conversation aside, the coffee was AMAZING. And I know nothing about coffee. My husband had a double shot espresso and I had an iced Americano. I would travel to Santa Teresa just to visit The Roastery again.

Loved this little spot 😊 Friendly service, a chill setting (with AC) to relax or work, and for those who appreciate coffee, hands down the best cup in Santa Teresa. Sourced from a local farmer and hand roasted on site, it’s definitely what they do best – worth trying. Whether it’s grabbing your morning coffee and hand-baked brownie, playing board games with a friends, or retreating from the midday sun for a beer, it’s a welcome oasis amidst the heat and bustle of Santa Teresa. They’ve cultivated a welcoming, relaxed spot – highly recommend you give it a visit.

COFFEE IN PLAYA CARMEN?

INTRO: Stop now and proceed directly to The Roastery. Nowhere else in Playa Carmen/Santa Teresa can you get this perfect cup of what you need to light up your day. Along with world-class roasts, you’ll get terrific light food, engaging and memorable service, absolute love, professionalism – and the occasional dose of enlightenment.

COFFEE: The coffee itself both screams and whispers quality. Only carefully sourced in Costa Rica, this phenomenal stuff will make even the weary, zombie-fied Starbucks dilettante love the finest grinds. It’ll wake you up and it also will make you grateful for what lies ahead.

PEOPLE: The proprietors, Steve and Irene, are in Costa Rica for two reasons: (1) They love making and serving only the best, super high-end coffee and (2) They want people to feel as invested as they are in the spirit of Pura Vida. The welcoming, wonderful folks behind the counter and attending to the tables make you feel special – both like you’re at home and in an exotic locale. And they are from everywhere. Got a language? They speak it.

WORLD: Wherever you go as a traveler, nothing’s perfect. We bring our politics and our cultures and our troubles with us. But The Roastery is about as close as you’re gonna get to a haven from the silliness you might be coming from or maybe soon returning to.

Either way, hang out and enjoy...

We had coffee here every day for the week that we were in town. My coffee drinks tend to go from espresso to dry cappuccino with regular milk, so I don't have any comment on alternative milks or lattes. This is some of the best coffee I have had anywhere. Good body, not overly acidic or bitter, nice flavors. We even tried the pour over which changed the flavor profile in surprising ways.

The staff was very friendly and even took the time to discuss the coffee making process and what they do to make a clearly superior cup to what I make at home. After a couple days, we were greeted like old friends which lent a nice air of camaraderie to the visits. And if you can't really speak Spanish, everyone there spoke English either as a first language or quite well as a second.

I got the avocado toast with tomato and pickled onion for breakfast every day. That was quite good and was plenty of food for me.

The space was friendly and welcoming and the air conditioning was doing its job well, which was quite welcome on those 36C days. Get there early if you want the two seats on the patio that...
