We went to eat the at restaurant which is Spanish oriented. The customer service is ok, they have more order takers than anything else but he was friendly, the place is nice and clean, takes you back to the 90s. The prices don't include the taxes which for 2023 they should all be included in the menu, to make life easier for customers. We ordered -Paella (did not use bomba rice), which is the correct rice for spanish paella. it was tasty but can improve the quality of the ingredients used. -Rice with shrimp: it was tasty, shrimps were overcooked but the overall dish was good, came with a basi salad and fries (we asked to change the salad for veggies and it did not happen) -Percebes: nice to find them in Costa Rica, pricey ($37 with taxes) but maybe only they sell them in CR -Ice cream with peaches: the ice cream was really bad, maybe Dos Pinos or a cheap brand and the peaches were the canned ones, kinda sad dessert for $9. I think the location is beautiful but for sure they need a refreshment in different areas to continue improving and making good food. I will go...
Read moreWe stayed at this small family owned hotel the night before our Windstar Cruise and loved it! Disclaimer - if you are looking for the Marriott, stay somewhere else (like the Marriott), but if you want a local experience, I highly recommend the Costa del Sol. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff was very helpful and patient with our poor language skills, Our group of 10 had a delicious dinner at the restaurant. The service there was rather slow, but the food was wonderful. Our group really enjoyed the lounge area on the 2nd floor as a space to relax and enjoy the views. There was a nice breakfast included the following morning and before checking out, we used the pool. This required a short walk down the street to the owners other property. We were a little apprehensive but the pool area was actually very nice. When we asked about getting a transfer to the port to meet our cruise, the owner and his son packed up our luggage and drove us to the port. In short, this was the perfect place to spend an evening...
Read moreAfter recently arriving back in San Jose, CR and heading back up to Guanacaste, my family and I got caught up in some nasty traffic that jammed up the roads for almost 24 hours. We all needed to rest, wash and eat. I found Costa Del Sol hotel in a quick search on TA and the reviews all looked good. I was very happy to find that the reviews were genuinely accurate.||||The rooms were clean and ready, comfortable and spacious. The rest of the hotel looked spotless and was nicely decorated. It is a great waterfront location with a great west facing sunset view in the evening. ||||I had pepper steak for dinner and it was a huge piece of beef and really really good. One of the best I have had for a long time. Kids had chicken and chips and that was great too. Breakfast was traditional Gallo Pinto and plentiful plus coffee and fruits. ||||The staff were all friendly and helpful too. ||||At $70 for a family room including taxes and breakfast it is great value for money. Would stay there again on my trips to and from San Jose if needed...
