Jaco Beach Condos — Hotel in Jacó

#102. The ad does not clearly state that the reservation is for 1 bedroom of the condo and that you share the condo with strangers. That being said, when we got there the security had no confirmation of our reservation. The security said they were trying to contact the owner. Three hours went by and the shift changed. The new security gave us a phone # to call. We could not call hotels.com because it was a weekend. We called the owner. He apologized and told us he overbooked and asked to text. We asked for a refund. He instead offered a beautiful cabin. It was late so we said ok. This "beautiful " cabin was 3 hours away. No where near a beach. It was in the mountains. On a hobby farm. It was a hostel. There were no bed sheets. The paint was peeling off the walls. It was a mess. A search showed it went for $15/night. We left after the first night. Definitely not what we booked. |Finally contacted hotels.com. They told us we were not entitled to a refund because the owner offered us alternate accommodations. |It's now a dispute with the credit card company.||The owner scammed us and hotels.com should remove him from their site.||Very disappointed with hotels.com that we were not able to reach them on a weekend and would not help...
