$15 admission. Good trails! There was not a good map and unclear way finding at the beginning so we accidentally ended up on the horse trail which was VERY hard. Once it crossed with the trail we were supposed to be on then it was nice. We saw a toucan, some monkeys and another large bird I canโ€™t remember the name now. You can reach to the bottom of the lava flows and if youโ€™re lucky with the weather see the top of the volcano. There is also standup paddle and kayaks you can rent here but the lake is very small. No access to lake arenal from here. We had almost purchased the admission that includes this but glad we didnโ€™t. The trails took long enough that we were quite tired and satisfied with our trip. Although most of your time is well shaded keep in mind at the top you need...

Itโ€™s a well maintained park. Relatively cheap cost for this tourist area. $15 to enter and $20 total for taxis to and from. Little cheaper than taking a tour. Red trail adds too much time and there is nothing great about it other than added extra hour to a hike by basically walking on boulders without any additional views - just because itโ€™s a hard hike it shouldnโ€™t mean that there no reward for doing it. Skip the red trail. Lagoon is ok for photos with the volcano, not sure I would want to swim in it. Lots of hummingbirds...

Incredible trail to hike.

I, too, was hesitant based on the reviews here but they are completely off.

No, it is not a national park and, yes, $15/pp is probably on the high end for an entrance fee but we found it be an absolute bargain.

The trail is beautiful, not at all crowded and about 2.5 miles long. The view at the top is stunning. There is also a large lake you...

The trails are short but nice and interesting, and the view at the top is beautiful. But the recreational area by the lake is unecessarily extremely noisy, with both a leaf blower (why?) and grass cutter going off all over the area while we were hoping to enjoy a quiet lunch by the lake post hike. Really ruined the experience for us, better to go chill around another lake.

Nice 1 hr hike up to a great view point of the volcano and the old lava trails. As you get towards the top, the trail becomes an old lava trail. Come prepared with water, hiking shoes, repellent and a rain poncho. This park is much less crowded than the Arenal Volcano National Park . There is a lake where you can kayak, sup and have a picnic.
