The hotel is in a convenient location in the town, walking distance to everywhere. Which is in a way unfortunate as it is very noisy if you want to sit out on the terrace to eat or drink, you cannot have a flowing conversation due to the road noise and exhaust fumes landing on your food was not great. The breakfast was good and scrambled eggs were cooked on arrival. The rooms face a nice courtyard and road noise during the night is not really an issue but all rooms have glass slatted windows so TV noise, snoring or conversations from fellow guests could be heard on occasions. The staff at reception is incredibly friendly and helpful. We were greeted on arrival with a lovely refreshing drink. There is no air conditioning but the fans in the room were fine. The rooms and beds were comfortable and very clean, the bathroom was nice, seemed to have been renovated recently.||We had dinner at the restaurant only once but decided to dine out in a small local Soda a short walk away (Santa Crucena) which had menu only in Spanish and waiters/owner did not speak english but had great friendly service and beautiful, tasty food and a few words of spanish will...
Read moreI took a group of 10 to this hotel for a weeks stay. The purpose of our trip was to do a mission project about 5 miles away. The location worked out great for our group. We worked out a deal with the manager to include breakfast and dinners. The price was very reasonable and the breakfasts were good, but the dinners were outstanding! The cooks and serving staff were excellent! The food was top notch! The rooms were clean and adequate (a bit small compared to US standards, but very much in line with Costa Rica standards). When our group of 10 all arrived back at the hotel in the evening, and took showers at the same time the hot water would run out before we all got our showers. The hotel is located on a main street, which makes it easy to find, but there is road noise. The road noise quiets down around 10:00 PM and starts picking up again around 4:30 AM. The hotel rooms are at the back of the hotel away from the street, so the rooms farther from the street are better. Parking is tight, but that is typical for Cost Rica hotels in a city area. Overall this was a great place and hit all the important things we needed...
Read moreThis was an okay hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. They provided a map and told us where good places were to go. We ended up not really liking their suggestions but we found a few other spots after asking some locals. The bed mattresses were well used and sunk in the middle, but were still comfortable. The shower doesn't have a lip and we ended up flooding our room! The hotel was quiet but we were there on a Thursday night. It was a convient loction to walk around town. The court yard is pretty and nice to sit around. The breakfast was basic, fruit, toast, and cereal. There were no staff around to ask if we could order eggs and meat. Overall okay, nothing fancy. Expect 2 star...
