Hotel Puerta Del Sol — Hotel in Ulloa

Here's why you should stay elsewhere: when we checked in after dark, there were very few lights on anywhere and hard to see where our room was outside. Once in our room, there were literally 2 dim bulbs that barely lit the room. 3 EXPOSED empty sockets in the ceiling fan light and plugged-in bedside table! When I asked the front desk if I could please have a lightbulb, I was told there was light in my room and what was the problem. I said I could easily be electrocuted reaching for the lamp in an unfamiliar room. Begrudgingly, instead of just giving me a bulb, the elder proprietor marched down to my room with me and proceeded to scold me for having the a/c turned on and the door open. The room was musty, I'd just gotten there. Is this how you greet guests?? Harrassment and challenges about wanting lightbulbs?! My husband demanded bulbs, and we learned they took them from our trip leaders room! She went back to her room to find her bedside lamps which had been on now had no bulbs. How embarrassing! Obviously they are penny pinchers here. If you run a hotel, are lightbulbs too much to ask? Apparently so!||There were small streams of bugs running across the wall by our headboard (see photo), and if that's not bad enough- bubbling plaster, rusty toilet, dirty pool, highway noise all night, someone jumping on the floor above us, breakfast plate noise beginning at 645am outside our room. ||We came here with a group otherwise I would never have chosen this place and will NEVER return. For a little more money, you can have better and quieter accommodations where you won't feel itchy and scolded. We are a mature couple, not kids. Very INSULTED by the owners behavior and reprimanding! Literally everyone else we encountered in Costa Rica was charming and kind, always patient and smiling. Except here. Scowls and shrugs only....

The worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. The owner is an elderly lady that is so unwelcoming and accused me of being a smoker and accused me of lying. I cut my stay short and decided to stay down the road at Country Inn, the service at Country INN was incredible and I highly recommend it. Other guests that were staying in a room near us also decided to leave and cut their stay short as they felt very unwelcomed. I do not recommend you stay here! Very unprofessional hosting experience that I will not recommend to anyone. Let’s not forget about the constant noise that kept us all up. When asking for the Wi-Fi password she told me to figure it out. I received an email from her saying nasty horrible things to my mother who complained originally. No wonder the rooms...

El "hotel Puerta del Sol" es un sitio muy amigable y cómodo además de bastante higiénico es casi como estar en casa por el tipo de hospedaje es muy residencial, solo algunos detalles importante que los lectores no han mencionados anteriormente y es bueno conocerlos para los que viajamos de negocios. En principio no lo veo como "hotel" yo lo catalogaría como tipo posada algo así ya que no tiene la infraestructura de hotel como tal ni servicio de restaurante ni de taxi es un aspecto a considerar cuando viajes de negocios y evalúen cuales son sus intensiones del viaje y hospedaje, si es correcto el "hotel"queda cerca del aeropuerto a pocos minutos y queda retirado de los sitios para comer y centros comerciales más si es tarde en la noche deben considerar tomar taxi por la hora o la distancia, otro punto a considerar es la Sra que sirve el desayuno nose por qué lo hace ya que los propietarios son personas muy amables y tratan con respeto a sus huéspedes, pero en el desayuno no sé por qué lo hacía prácticamente le tira el plato de comida a uno en la mesa sin un gesto de delicadeza y ocurrió a diario lo cual debe considerar y evaluar, lo otro que me pareció muy mal por que yo salía el domingo muy temprano y lo había conversado con los propietarios e igual me dijeron que podía tomar el desayuno por lo que baje a las 6:45 am y sé que el desayuno lo comienzan a servir a partir de las 7 am al intentar tomar solo el café a esa hora fui llamado la atención a manera de regaño por la Sra que sirve el desayuno , bueno es su manera de actuar pero en fin el "hotel" posada tienes aspectos muy positivos y algunos a considerar que yo no sabía y ningún visitante los había comentado que creo debe conocer para evaluar bien su opción , hay muchos hoteles cerca y seguro más caros y no sé cómo es el servicio es investigar, ah otra cosa importante en la página web indica que tiene servicio de translado hotel aeropuerto pero creo que hay que pedirlo con antelación y es pago y no es rotativo en el aeropuerto pero yo use taxi, otro punto mi habitación no tenía servicio de jabón y champú lo cual compre fuera, pero fue mi caso mi colega si los tenía así que fue suerte y no los pedí por salía temprano en la mañana y regreso tarde en la noche creo que ella deben estar pendiente del servicio ,de mi parte un agradecimiento a lo propietarios que son...
