The service I experienced was not what I expect from a property that associates itself with the Hilton logo. I felt security was unnecessarily watching me. The gentlemen security staff could have been more cordial to me. The gentlemen staff in charge of the hotel restaurant and room service did an outstanding job. This resort also added gratuity to everything. Room service added both a charged for the delivery and gratuity. You had a better selection and it cost less to order room service. The room was very spacious and had a high ceiling. It had windows across one wall. The drawback about them was you could not open the window. I believe that the reason they would not open is because it would have cost too much for that amenity. I also arrived there and the air conditioner was on. After traveling all day, I was extremely cold. I call down to the front desk and told them the heat was not working. This is when I found out and was informed the resort did not have any rooms with heat. He told me to put an extra blanket on my bed. I was so glad that I booked a room with two double beds instead of one king. I took the blanket off the other bed and slept under two blankets for 10 days. I was so grateful my maid knew I needed both blankets on my bed. When she made the bed, she kept both blankets on the bed. The location is very close to the interstate and the airport so it was noisy. The swimming pool could have been cleaner and the jacuzzi was not available. Just for this reason I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The onsite casino was no more than a game room for adults. Very disappointed with it and the dealers did not display any type of enthusiasm towards me. I can honestly say it was the worst casino I had ever step into. I spent 10 days at this resort and I wish I would have booked my stay at the Wyndham in Escuza. I would have had a free breakfast buffet and a indoor pool and jacuzzi. I can say that the only thing that I thought was acceptable was the fact that they honored the condition I had made with Corporate about not having to pay almost $20.00 dollars a day for wireless internet. This is the reason I did not cancel my reservation at this resort. As far as the warm cookie, mine was over baked and hard. I also had a very hard time receiving my daily in room complimentary coffee and tea. I would ask the maid for extra sugar and coffee. I may have received at the most an extra 5 packs of sugar and 3 extra coffees. A couple of days I did not receive my complimentary teas. I never use any of the complimentary toiletries and for 10 days I did not use the air condition in my room because I did not need it. I also did not have my bed linens change while I was there. I change my linens every two weeks at home. I saw no need in wasting the water. I can say that I did drink the water out of the tap and used it to make coffee. It did not make me ill in anyway. I also found it extremely annoying that an employee knock on my door about 9:00 am every day to inquiry if I needed laundry service. They even had a master key and tried to enter my room when I did not answer the door. Luckily I always keep the security latch secured when I am in my room. I do think that it is okay for your maid that oversees cleaning your room to be able to come in while you are not there. But someone whose oversees laundry service should not be allowed in when you are gone. It would be better to let the front desk know you need that service. I could have used the do not disturb sign, except if housekeeping saw this they might have assume that I did not need maid service. I also want to emphasize the regular staff was always a delightful experience when I interacted with the. The staff that were in supervising positions were not friendly and acted like I was something that they had to tolerate. They did not exhibit behavior that I would had wanted my employees to display if I was an owner of this establishment. I will never stay at this establishment again. Not booking directly through Hilton, no FREE breakfast, mini bar, WI-FI,...

I will never stay at this place again, and I will list off the reasons why in order of importance. So one of the nights I stayed at this hotel I had met a girl at a restaurant down the street and I brought the girl back over to the hotel thinking maybe we could have a few drinks and a little fun and the hotel. When we walked in for whatever reason the front desk person stopped us and asked her if she had identification, she provided identification, but apparently her identification wasn’t adequate as the hotel told me that she needed a passport to enter the hotel room and ultimately the security guards at this hotel told me that I would be arrested!! Yes arrested!!! They stated they would call the police and I would be arrested if I brought this girl to my room so we sat outside near the pool and the security guards stood around us the entire time. Have you ever heard of that in your entire life absolute unbelievable harassment. We decided that we would leave the hotel I was paying money to stay at and go somewhere else because she was very uncomfortable with security guards following us around. So I told her let’s go to my room and get the keys to my car. Once again security guards blocked her from entering the building. Secondly, there is no elevator here so you have to carry your bags up flights of stairs if you want to get to your second floor room or third floor room, thirdly, the water at this hotel literally smells like sulfur. When I washed my face off in the morning. I couldn’t get the smell off of my face and out of my hair. Also the shower will go hot nearly scolding hot to freezing cold the entire time you’re in the shower. I would not recommend this place. The staff is extraordinarily rude. This is my first time here and I know I will never come back to this hotel or any other Doubletree for as long as I travel for work. I am making an effort to have my company withdraw from the Hilton corporate account and choose another hotel chain. We are a global company so I hope that I can make it happen and never use...

This hotel is a great value. While it is an older property, it is seemingly well maintained and clean. It's indoor/outdoor design makes it a tropical getaway. The hotel is in a convenient location with a free airport shuttle (less than 15 minutes away from the airport). The central part of the city is about a 20-25 minute drive by car. During my visit, the pool was too cold to comfortably swim despite the pool being "heated." There are nice lounge chairs and a hot tub. The executive lounge is nice and offers breakfast and an evening reception. A poolside restaurant also offers a breakfast buffet and is included for Diamond members. There was ample complimentary parking in an adjacent lot across from the hotel. The rooms are extremely basic. This was the first Hilton property (of all the brands I've stayed at in the past few years) that did not offer a mini fridge in the room. I did notice some sitting outside of the housekeeping office, so you can probably ask for one, but I shouldn't have to in an Executive room. The room was bare (only 1 piece of artwork hung on a side wall. There are no rugs or carpet (only tile) or any soft furnishings. I can confirm other reviews that mention poor AC because my AC struggled to go below 22C (72F). There's no typical fan (only a vent pipe in the center of the room) on the AC to offer white noise, so bring earplugs if you go to bed early and are a light sleeper. There is also a strobe on the fire detector (but I don't think the hotel can do much about this, so bring a blindfold if you're sensitive to light at night). The bed was firm, but the pillows offered a range of softness. The room was quite large (Executive King w/balcony). The service was competent but not overly friendly. There were many missed opportunities to engage guests, but the staff always tried to help when they could. I think there's an opportunity for improvement in this area. Overall, I found my stay to be enjoyable and a good value. I would recommend this property to others and would return...

This DoubleTree is truly an excellent value for money. It’s part of the Hilton franchise, and it delivers exactly what you expect – honest quality at a very fair price point. The location is perfect, very close to the airport, yet once you’re inside the property, you feel completely transported. The outdoor area is fantastic: a very large pool suitable for families, a second pool just for children, and an amazing outdoor hot tub with warm water and even a waterfall. Towels and service are always available, with plenty of sunbeds and a beautiful, well-kept garden area. The restaurant is very good, offering a generous breakfast buffet with everything you could wish for – eggs, bacon, fresh juices, yogurts, pastries, and more. The bar is another highlight, with excellent cocktails, a great atmosphere, and even a pool table to enjoy. There are also several meeting rooms, making it a convenient spot for conferences. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and come in different sizes. Yes, the décor is a bit dated, but it adds to the Costa Rican charm. Architecturally, the hotel feels authentic, open to the outdoors with fresh air circulating everywhere, which makes the ambiance unique and relaxing. Room service is also efficient for those who prefer dining in their room. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Alexander at the lobby, who went out of his way to ensure we had a wonderful stay – thank you for your kindness! And of course, one of the signature touches of DoubleTree: the warm, delicious cookies at check-in, which are always a treat. To top it off, the hotel even has a small casino with blackjack and electronic games, which adds a fun element to the stay. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying near the airport who wants comfort, great service, a friendly atmosphere, and a touch of Costa Rican charm.

Had an absolutely lovely stay. The hotel was quiet and embraced the natural beauty of the jungle area it was in. You would not know you were only a few minutes from the airport. They do offer shuttle service to and from the airport. The shuttle picks up in arrivals area 4 every hour on the half hour and departs from the hotel every hour on the hour. Be prompt!! The driver leaves on time. My room was large and clean. It wasn't lavish or anything spectacular, but it was very nice, quiet, and clean. I had a plumbing issue in my room, but maintenance was very fast and efficient in fixing it. Excellent service. Room service is available 24/7 and has great variety. The breakfast spread was awesome. There is an egg chef that will prepare fresh eggs for you, or you have scrambled eggs in the buffet. I chose fresh eggs because the buffet eggs were too wet for my liking. The vegetable hash was my favorite item on the buffet. It was something I've never had before and it did not disappoint. Incredibly flavorful and very filling. The pool was gorgeous!! Large with a swim up bar and a hot tub. It is right off the restaurant area. Overall, the stay was lovely. Would definitely recommend this location and would stay again on another trip. The front will call you a taxi or they have a van that will take you where you want to go. I believe the van costs $27 for a kne way trip. You can also use your US based Uber account to call an Uber. Might recommend Uber vs taxi. My taxi ride was in a less than desirable car and my clothes smelled like the car for a while after exiting.
