Hotel Kimen — Hotel in Grad Cres

With this post I want to share my, by all means, positive experience with Hotel Kimen on the fantastic island of Cres. We (family of 4) stayed at this hotel during first half of August 2023. Welcomed by professional & pleasant front-desc personnel who didn't find our late check-in as an issue in any way. We were directed to the dinning area where we (again) were expected and welcomed. And that welcoming attitude has been consistent throughout the whole stay. The food was good, versatile adapted to meet the guests with different needs and tastes. For me personally, I didn't have to go further than the fish table. It was just great! |The rooms are good, well-maintained and very clean fulfilling the needs I have when I'm on summer vacation.|The beach area in front of the hotel is (again) great fulfilling the needs the guests with different needs have. Elderly, families with infants etc - everybody can find "a place under the sun (or in the shade)".|We rented a boat for one day and (again) it was fantastic experience visiting Lubenice, the blue cave, small beaches...|The barbecue organised in front of the Kovacine Camp and supported by Hotel's personnel was (again) great. |As for the facilities just mentioning one-there is, within the hotel area, a charger for electrical vehicles-an important fact for me using an electrical car.|And as the last remark, the personnel of the Hotel Kimen were just terrific turning my vacation to an experience above and beyond. We resided in the "Annex" builing, and were pleasantly surprised by how great it looked. The rooms were clean, altough a bit tiny with the sofa extended to be a second bed. The AC worked well, but was a bit loud on the higher setting. The breakfast wasnt self service due to covid, so there were some wait times, but it never got to the point of frustration, and most of the time the wait time was only around 30 seconds. Variety was great, and it tasted great aswell. For dinner you can order 3 types of meals: A meat meal, a fish meal and a vegetarian meal. While this wasnt exactly our favourite, it can be seen that the food has a lot of time and effort put into it. Also the menu for the next days meal's wasnt in english, which was a bit weird. It has to be noted that you can opt out of dinner, and you actually dont have to pay for those meals then. Hands down the best part of the hotel was the staff. From the minute we arrived it became obvious that the staff here are super friendly and helpful, which was great to see. The beach is also really close, altough the beach there is a bit tiny, and very close to the shoreline walkpath. Central Cres is only a 20 minute walk away on the very pleasant path...

Perfect hotel for a family with kids and a dog. Super friendly staff, especially we would like to thank Jelena. Clean area.The rooms are quite tiny but especially clean and cosy. There is some entertainment for kids if you wish, in the camping area. Our daughter loved dancing and workshops. There is a pebble beach just a few steps away from the hotel, which is very convenient cause you can always run away from the heat to the lovely garden that belongs to the hotel. The food is good, there's some selection of fruits and salads. Some choice of gluten, lactose free food. One thing, you should really make sure that the room is not next to the restaurant cause they have some live performances every night till 23:00 which could be pretty loud. All in all, we loved the stay and we will definitely come back soon. Thanks for everything. And oh yeah, the water from the tap tastes...
