Maria's Place — Hotel in Grad Korčula

We rented a flat for 1 1/2 months in Dubrovnik Old Town and decided to hop the ferry and spend a couple nights in Korcula Old Town for a less crowded experience and chose Maria's Place for our 2 nights accommodation. It's extremely easy to find; walk off the ferry, up the stairway entrance into the old town, continue straight to "Restaurant Maret", turn left then first right and there you are! Walk up to the 2nd floor (3rd floor for North Americans...) and enter the left door marked "Marias" and chose a room that has a key in the door (this is a selfserve establishment). The keys are in the doors of unoccupied units - we were late arriving and got the last room, the smaller unit #1 that was great with a queen size bed, opening shuttered windows looking down on the quiet alleyway below, small bar fridge with milk for your coffee or tea (kettle, cups, tea bags, instant coffee is all there), a 3 piece tiled bathroom with shower, shower gel and lots of towels and a super-efficient A/C. Unit #2 is bigger w/2 single beds that can go together to create a Kingsize bed and it has an outside balcony (#3 we never saw inside of). The location is ideal as you can literally step out onto the alleyways and have excellent eateries & wine bars steps away while swimming is only a few minute's walk. I took the ferry from nearby Orebic & decided to stay on the island of Korcula. This was a last minute booking & I was delighted with the price- £36|The property is right in the middle of the old town - quite easy to find.|The idea is you pick which available room you prefer - if the key is in the lock outside it’s available. There is no reception / staff|I was lucky in that room 3 was the only one available of the 3|It is roomy - clean - 2 windows - kettle supplied. Air conditioning was good. |Great Wi-Fi.comfy bed. It even had a little balcony.|Ok it is a bit noisy at night but that is to be expected due to the location - I just closed the windows |I left my luggage while I looked around the town. We like Maria's a Place as business and a friendly place to vacation. For a long time We cooperate in the area of Dubrovnik and Korčula. The apartment is quite clean. Maria is fantastic friendly. The location is excellent. In street ther is three vinery shops are also near by where you can try excellent Korcula wines. We recommend try red wine Plavac Mali and the best quality white wine Posip. Korčula is great holiday destination and beautiful place.
