Villa is comparably easy to find. ||If you are getting there by care, note that there is a private parking place behind the building, secured by ramp. The street doesn't seem too complicated or busy.||If you are arriving by bus, it will take you 10-15 mins to reach the house. It is located outside of "old city", it takes 15 mins of lovely walk (along the sea) to get to the city.||The house is an old beauty, carefully renovated. I was staying in Eufemia apartment, and this one had a lovely sea view. the bad point is that there is a casino on a lower floor, so it gets to be noisy all through the night.||Apartment Eufemia is described as "up to three people". However, third person is supposed to sleep on the pull-out sofa. And this sofa is unfortunately not comfortable. If you have back problems - avoid.||the apartment is well equipped, it has an air-conditioning unit, stove, hair dryer, washing machine (unfortunately not operational when I was there), adapters for electrical plugs, plates and pots and cutlery. No spices, salt, pepper, oil, coffee or tea.||The next supermarket is 10 mins by foot, one can get foods and drinks there. In the other direction, one can find beaches and fancy hotels. There area a few restaurants and cafes nearby.||Wifi connection was top.||Apartment was clean and fresh towels were supplied regularly.||One can only pay in cash - the next bank/ATM is 10 mins by foot.||From a personal point, I found the manager rather weird and complicated. didn't introduce himself by arrival, required payment in advance, and it took 4-5 phone calls for each question. Also, he was quite eager for me to leave the flat (because he had other appointments). Again, this is personal point and I say it because I usually meet very kind and loving hosts. ||What I found rather unpleasant was that I reserved the flat for 3 people. However, manager tried to convince me that the apartment is reserved only for 2 people and required extra payment. Luckily, I had an original booking confirmation, so the thing was quickly resolved. Apparently, there was some error in the booking procedure. I advise that you book the apartment with clearly defined dates and number of people, for errors do occur. ||In general, it is extremely nice place. If you don't mind romantic walks (with ice cream) to the old city, this is the place for you. Light-sleepers are advised to keep all windows...
Read moreNot knowing exactly where the apartment was, we pulled up and parked at the waterfront admiring the boats, islands and beautiful weather. My friend said to me, "now this is what I pictured when I thought of coming here, it's beautiful" I called Boris and he immediately showed up to take me just two buildings down from that beautiful scene. I knew this was going to be a special vacation. Great location! We had two apartment for 8 people, two couples in each room. Each room had their own bathroom off the bedroom, both apartments were furnished nicely and clean. Bathrooms were roomy and really nice. Fully stocked kitchen, wifi, air conditioning, very centrally located to city center and walking/cycling trails. Rovinj is a gem in Croatia, very friendly people, great food, wonderful sights. I could have spent more than 2 days here. ||The walk up to the upstairs apartment is a little of a trek, wide open staircase, not steep just about 5 flights or so, no elevator but Boris carried up the luggage for the folks that stayed up there. I had the bottom floor but if you have ailments that don't lend themselves to walking steps request ground level. There is not an ocean view from either of the apartments we rented and I am not sure they have any but since we weren't in our room much, it didn't seem to matter.||There is free parking in the back of the apartment, request this in advance.||Great place to stay, very comfortable...
Read moreThis is a cautionary review of an accommodation booked through Booking.com and Agoda.com and cancelled inadvertently (We received two different confirmation numbers. Thinking we had booked twice, we cancelled out the Booking.com reservation but assumed our Agoda booking remained in force)|We were charged $638 for cancelling our two night stay at the apartment. The owner, Boris, promptly rebooked and so netted double his money for those two nights. |He is of course entitled to do this. But exercising entitlement is not always the most prudent or charitable decision. Goodwill counts for a great deal in business. |Cancellation fees exist to protect hotels from lost revenue when the accommodations can not be re-rented. |It came as a surprise to discover that Booking.com and Agoda are one and the same company. Booking.com were responsive to our plea to reconsider refunding our monies but in the end said it was the decision of the owner whether to do so or not. |Booking.com absolved themselves of any responsibility for the misunderstanding and resultant cancellation by claiming that both confirmation numbers appeared on one of the two booking documents we received. |This experience has left us the poorer financially but sadder than that, with a bitter taste of Croatia and...
