Let me start off by saying that staff was exceptional. Everybody from young receptionists Lucija and her co worker to housekeeping ladies who kindly let us in the elevator for staff while we were waiting for the elevator and i was with a bad knee after operation and i couldnt use the stairs it was crowded and it was saturday a lot of guests checking in and out. Thanks to Sandra hostess at the breakfast room who was very kind and nice and introduced us to the famous view from the 8th floor of the hotel, of course big praise to all the cooks and waiters. Everybody is top notch! 5 stars for everybody. Location of the hotel is superb. The beaches are little outdated and they cant keep up with the hotel but it does not change the overall satisfaction of the hotel guest house. Rooms are very spacious we even got 2 extra beds even though there was 2 of us and for really cheap price, unbeleviable. There no words enough to express the beauty of this rustic , stylish , wooden shaped architecture it really bring you back to old times with a lot of style. There are fresca s on the walls from 1960s , big pool , game rooms with old stylish billiard table, big rustic fireplace ,crowns moldings and outside terrace of the bar where we relaxed every day. We heard a ruomor there was and old secret room in the hotel that belonged to former Yugoslavian leader Josip Broz Tito which was used for his night adventures at Umag allegedly . Unfortunatelly we didnt find it and didnt have chance to see it but surely we will try again next year when we will be certainly back. Parking is free and breakfast is really great with a great view and a lot choice for your meals. Big praise to the director of the hotel who manages this wonderful staff and place. It can bee seen surely that this hotel is being managed with a lot of soul and heart. A message to everyone please never change and please keep the hotel in its...
Read moreSo I was there 3 days as I participated on race called Istrian wine Run and my opinion is that I really feel sorry for people who spend their hard earned money for this establishment. As a Croat I'm embarrased that this hotel is offered on many international sites because this is disgrace for our tourism as well as for Istraturist to have it in their portfolio. For this box with roof you pay for halfboard around 49€ in September. Rooms are really old with furniture from 2nd world war, no internet access in rooms ( 21st century hellouuu ) , uninformed reception who didn't know to give me directions to Istralandia cca 20km away ( poor guy is probably outsourced from Slavonija because management wants to lower their wage costs ) . Sheets are dirty, towel hanger was damaged and the bathroom was in really lousy condition. Some waiters in restaurant do not know english and it was disgrace to listen to them how they explained on Croatian to the guest how the beer is poured from the tap , I thought they were joking at first. So if you are not a mazohist please avoid this building if you want to have a decent vacation with your family . I can also add photos of the room if somebody...
Read moreHaha. This place is another gem that was probably big in Yugoslavia. The rooms were nice and clean, honestly no complains there. The only conplain is lack of AC so if you are in during the afternoon you will feel like you are in sauna. The problem is also with water as there is no hot water if you are at higher levels (I was level 7) due to lack of pressure and peak hours. So you might wait if you will want to shower immediately after coming in in the afternoon.
The staff as many others said already were really friendly and speak english so it shouldnt be a problem navigating around that.
The food was also good enough and you even get drinks at breakfast lunch and dinner free of charge including red, white wine and beer. All free of charge.
The views were also pretty good so was the parking which is 1e a day and there is plent of places to park around.
So were you wishing u fly back 50 years this hotel is perfect for you snd honestly for the cheap price you get an...
