Konoba Istria Grill & Fish — Restaurant in Grad Umag

I was at this place twice, once out and one in the season, the experience was so vastly different it is hard to put into words.

The first time (out of season) sea brass with truffles was something I remember keenly.

The second time (in the season) the sea food was ok but nothing special as I remembered. We went full out with appetizers which was a mistake as they were quite pricey and not that good at all, but worse part was the service that was just rude and visibly irritated, for no apparent reason.

It is a shame that I brought a couple of friends from Slovenia advertising...

I just got home from a family lunch at Gostionica Istra..Well, i m pretty sure that we don’t need eat again today as we are stuffed. The delicious and big sized portions are more than one can eat, yet you will try to because it’s a sin to leave something uneaten. The fish is undeniably fresh and well prepared, while the grilled meat meals that passed by our table made us want to come back again..and, because of the well mannered and always smiling staff, we will come...

NIE MEHR WIEDER!!!!! Service Total unfreundlich! Um ein Wein zu bestellen musste mein Mann den Kellner in die Küche folgen! Waren mit Kind da. Die "rindsuppe" war eine brühwürfel mit ungeschälte Karotte und rohe Nudeln. Fleischmix Platte kostet für 1 Person 90 Kuna, für zwei allerdings (nicht wie erwartet 180Kuna) 190Kuna!!! Und wird dir auch so berechnet egal wie du bestellt hast. Platte selbst war so lieblos gestaltet wie es nur ging. Kartoffeln, Fleisch (alles hackmässiges und trockenes Hähnchen). Das wars. Kein Blatt Salat oder etwas Liebe beim servieren. Ich hatte mein Fisch zuerst bekommen. Nach 10 min warten, hab ich angefangen zu essen, erst als ich fertig war kam Fleischplatte für die Männer. Na danke. Beim bezahlen wurden die Männer noch schlimmer behandelt und praktisch auf Trinkgeld gedrenk, als es dann natürlich keine gab wurde auch (obwohl alle andere Tische es hatten) nicht mal ein Schnaps angeboten sondern jede Minute auf die Tür gezeigt. Fazit:Seit Jahren kommen wir nach Umag. Und es gibt sooo vie schöne und freundliche lokale (kopar, Lido, Luna) aber dahin NIE MEHR WIEDER!!!!! P. S. Falls jetzt jemand denkt wir waren laut oder unfreundlich-nein! Kind hat gemalt am Tisch und erst als ich nach WLAN gefragt habe um Trickfilm zustarten, wurde mir mein Handy aus der Hand genommen und inkognito verbunden. Also so eine Kleinigkeit wie WLAN ist dort nicht als Leistung...
