It’s an okay hotel for a couple days in my opinion. There are a couple things that you should know before you come: (1)You cannot pay anything by card, even dinner. There is no bank nearby where you can pin cash for a fair price. Only ATMs so make sure you have enough money for you whole stay before you come. (2) There is no place to chill in the evening if it is cold. It’s understandable that the restaurant closes early, but after that you have no where to stay to play games for example. (3) It is a small hotel, don’t expect much. Breakfast is small but okay, the rooms are noisy and not too big and there is not much to do around the hotel. (4) The hotel rooms with 1 double bed and a room for 2 more people do not provide much privacy and a vacation feeling, when someone needs to use the toilet at night the floor and the door of the bathroom make a lot of noise. Besides you can hear very clearly when your neighbours wake up. It is all very disturbing for your sleep. (5) There is no elevator (6) The menu of dinner is permanent, even small changes are not possible (e.g. no chocolate on your pancake or leaving meat out). The hotel is simple and does not make exceptions, they do not focus on fulfilling what the customer wants. (7) It has a good location if you want to visit the plitvice lakes. (8) The hotel is very clean...
Read moreWe stayed here this January for a birthday/weekend getaway. We chose the double luxury cabin with the hydromassage tub and the jacuzzy. |The cabins are very beautiful with a rustic style, extremly comfortble bed, very clean and warm. |The girls on the recepcion are super nice and they try to help you with all of your problems. |The nature landscape is purely amazing and there are plenty of fun activities, like the baby zoo and a spa. The best part is you are just a 15 minute walk from the Plitvicelakes nature park. |However the restaurant. Aldo is nice and clean, the breakfeast offer is kind of basic buffet but ok. The dinner is a HUGE NO- the food choice is poor, food quality-food|undercookd, cold and slopy with small portions. You wait minimaly 40 minutes for the cold and wrong food. Basicly they are selling tasteless and overpriced meals for "specialties", and when you try to get the hotel manager she is not on the site or when you reach her, you can see on her that she is just trying to get rid of you. |Overall experience this place a beautiful and a gem who realy needs a beather manager. Best wishes and greatings for the nice girls on the recepcion. |I would stay here again but wouldn't dare...
Read moreCHARGED MORE THAN STATED POLICY – NO RESPONSE FROM HOTEL I sent request to cancel my booking at Ethno Houses Plitvice on 1st July, well within the cancellation policy terms. Their policy clearly states: “You may cancel free of charge until 3 days before arrival. If you cancel in the 3 days before arrival, the cancellation fee will be the cost of the first night. If you don't show up, the no-show fee will be the total price of the reservation.” I cancelled within the 3 days period and was expecting to be charged for one night (£390). Instead, I was charged the full amount (£780) and my booking was falsely marked as a no-show — despite the documented cancellation and message sent to them - screenshot attached. I previously followed Booking.com’s advice and requested a waiver, which the hotel declined and is acceptable. But the overcharge is unacceptable and violates their own policy, and my repeated efforts to resolve this have been ignored. Unanswered calls and no response to messages. This has been deeply disappointing, and I urge future guests to be cautious. I still hope the hotel will take responsibility and...
