This has been the most terrible unlucky start of a vacatiol i think ever. ||||First of all i would like to adress not here to complain about nothing.||||First the checking experience: , the hotell didnt have the order of the room that was for checkin. prosess took 30-50 min. sitting i the reseption 11 at night.||||The nightstaff very kind and respectfull gives us a room upgrade. The room we get is dusty, the aircondition makes weird noices and one of the girls has dustalergi. This was quite awfull but can happen anywhere.||||The bathroom of the new room is fludded with water all over the floor, 2 minutes after the reseptionist lets us in. ||||The whole bathroom is filled with water, and staff had to come up. in total this prosess took 2 hours at night. ||||Then we go to sleep, the aircondition makes some weird noice all night ) check vent. (Right sink broken and leckage) ||||Then we get told we had to swap the room after 1 day to the original room. the staff didnt inform us what time we checkin to the new room. we where not rlly informed at all just that a change was happening. ||||||We wake up the day after, we go outside get told by reseption they appolgice for their mistake and that we will be staying on the suite for no extra cost for the whole week. They appologice for their faults.||||30 minutes after the room key dosnt work, then we go down to check again, then we get told by hotell staff that that we couldnt have the room after all. then we get forced to pack our stuff with 2 hour notice for roomchange while we had plans. Read moreStayed at Hotel Jona for 7 nights which was great, the hotel is on a busy main road which can be a little tricky to cross but once inside the room because of the way they are positioned you don't really hear the road noise. |The hotel is on the main bus route into Split and the buses go every half hour from outside the hotel which takes approx 20 minutes, there is a small shop a short 2 minute walk along with an amazing bakery. |Unless you have lunch and dinner at the hotel you are limited by choice of places to eat, next door is a lovely little restaurant but ended up in Split for food which due to the bus links wasn't too bad. |The rooms have what you need and are lovely but the design lets them down with glass doors into the bathroom is a little tricky when someone wants to use the bathroom in the night and puts the light on which shines straight into the bedroom. |The breakfast at the adjacent hotel is a continental style breakfast but you get plenty of choice, just try not to get there during the busy time as the queue for the coffee machine can get a little long!!|The staff at the hotel were brilliant and are very informative and speak very good English. |You get the use of the hotels sun beds on the sea front where the water is so clear and refreshing in the heat but be aware it's not a sandy beach so take some flip flops. |The adjacent hotel also has a rooftop swimming pool and small limited gym. |The only downside is that we didn't have a balcony to sit out on as the view from the room was amazing and struggled to dry beachwear, but I'll definitely go back to...
Read moreThis is a rather confusing place in that it is part of a bigger hotel, the SAN Antonio, and uses their facilities and it makes a real difference which bit you stay in. We booked through Expedia who were hopeless because they gave us the name and phone number of a hotel in Armenia even though we were booked in here. We communicated with the hotel to arrange a transfer which didn’t turn up and caused all sorts of problems. Don’t. Get a taxi from outside the airport, its cheaper and more efficient or better yet use Uber which works perfectly. Other reviews have complained that the other buildings are run down or noisy or smell of food from the kitchens and there are four separate names on the outside of the main hotel the SAN Antonio. The building we were in was the Hotel Jona but breakfast was served in the main hotel which is great because you sit looking at he sea which is about 5 yards away. Anyway , in Hotel Jona, you want the two rooms in the basement / ground floor which look over the car park with a distant view of the sea. They are enormous, modern, clean and comfortable. Occasionally a coach will park and block your view but its not a great problem as the sea is a short stroll. The rooms have marble floors and there’s no shower curtain which is ridiculous as they are soon slippery. The main hotel has a rooftop pool, friendly reception staff and a lot of choice for breakfast. Split is a 30 minute bus ride or an Uber...
