Merit Hotel — Hotel in Lefkoşa Türk Belediyesi

This hotel room was a travellers nightmare and the hotel manager's response is worth benchmarking. I checked in at around 2pm and the room air conditioning was not colling enough..The temperature outside was 40 degrees Celcius so I thought it will take some time. In the evening I complained and told the front desk that the thermostat is set at 10 degrees Celcius but the room temperature seems more than 25 degrees C. The maintenance told me the colling is central and we can do nothing about it. I protested because ethics hotel charges Euros 170++ firna single room. The manager himself cam eand politely explained that at home he likes the AC temperature at 28 degrees Celcius and according to him this 25-26 degrees was optimal. He suggested with the room air conditioner I need not take a blanket. Problem solved. Please avoid this hotel completely. I am sure there are many other stra hotels with working air conditioners in...

Good but they need a ventilation system. To many smoke from the cigarettes. I say that and also me i am a smoker. Also they need more cars for the customers they bring back. They have only 1 van 2 casino cars for the normal customers and 1 good car for the Vip customers (meaning big spenders = big losers). Also many times i see the big bosses there use that car to come and go from the casino (i don't understand they can't afford to buy a car with 3000 dollars salary or they just making economy). People are waiting outside for 15 to 30 minutes to take them back. Those people are those they lose from 10 to 1000 dollars at slot machines, roulette or live games. The food is good and plenty. Also a paradise for heavy alcohol drinkers. To some Turkish players they just stop giving them Whisky cause they get drunk and make troubles. Plus they have discounts 20%. Anyway they are gonna lose it anyway they just play more...

The hotel is amazing, one of the older hotels so a little dated but the location is great, service and staff were amazing and friendly speaking good English, the rooms were good size, equipped mini bar and good room service, food was good and breakfast too again staff couldn’t do more to help of accommodate. Spa staff didn’t speak much English but understood and fitted me in then and there for a massage which was fab! My only complaint would be the smell in corridors and having more breakfast options but I’d definitely go back!

Casino was great too, buffet food amazing and staff were attentive and cleaning constantly (hotel and casino) and service was top level and unlike some casinos it wasn’t smokey (as a non smoker it’s a massive plus)
