ANTON FLORIAN, Zámecký hotel Valtice — Hotel in okres Břeclav

This hotel is very romantically situated in the left wing of the beautiful Valtice château. This is also the disadvantage of the hotel! There is no possibility to park your car in front of the hotel to unload your suitcases and there is no elevator inside. The nearest parking is paid by the hour and the next free one is a 7 minute walk in-between the local concrete flats. Since the last visit (1997) I've made here a lot has changed. Everything is new and modern refurbished and according to me in a nice style. They could make it a little bit warmer with paintings and some green. Especially on the terrace. But in general is up to the standard. The rooms are also nicely refurbished. Only the beds.... We've ordered a big double bed and ended up with two separate beds put together with a big gab in between. Not ideal. I saw the same kind of beds in other rooms. The next minus is the equipment of the rooms! No hairdryer (probably available at the reception), no other amendments like cleaning tips, shower caps, creams or others. Only soap in a bottle on the wall and a free bottle of water which they didn't refresh the second day. There is no sign of "ecology". So you expect that they simply change your towels. No, they didn't. And they also didn't make up the bed! All in all, not up to the standard of 4 stars. We asked the reception for good food. They really recommended their own restaurant, so we tried it. The menu was very simple with things like schnitzel with potatoes. We tried two starters (Moravian cheese and sausage and the beef tartare) which were pretty good. But for the other evenings we tried some places in town. The beer, wine and coffee was very good. The breakfast was basic and OK. Compared to what you expect it was poor. Than the service and staff. This was great! Friendly, smiling and helpful people. Fitting up to the job of running a hotel on a higher level. Really a pity the it doesn't add up to the hotel itself. We would choose another hotel next...

Hotel byl skvělý, luxusní ubytování, dostatečné vybavení, vše čisté, personál recepce byl velmi příjemný a milý (na vysoké úrovni). První noc nám ale v pokoji bylo neuvěřitelné vedro, které nešlo vyvětrat malými okny. Na druhou noc jsme obdrželi větrák, díky kterému už noc byla příjemnější. Co ale rozhodně nedoporučujeme (a kvůli čemu ubíráme hvězdičku) je kuchyň. Snídaně byly sice dostačují, ale za tu cenu bychom čekali více přepychu než ze sladkého bublanina a toť vše, jinak klasika párečky, vajíčka. Vajíčka obsahovaly černé kousky nějaké staré pánve (ne spáleninu ale teflon), na což jsme personál upozornili. Na snídani bylo až moc personálu, kteří moc neodnášeli, ale sledovali nás jako dozorci. Nejhorší byla večeře. Chtěli jsme si dát "lepší" jídlo. Já jsem si dala salát (2 saláty za poloviční cenu jsem v jiných restauracích ve Valticích už ochutnala a byly rozhodně lepší) a jeho hodnota byla tak 15 korun. Pouze zelené listy zalité omáčkou, která byla taková nijaká. Na povrchu bylo několik plátků parmezánu. Syn měl lanýžové rizoto, při kterém se kuchař soustředil na nedovařenost rýže, tudíž se nedala skoro ani rozkousat a celé to zalil dostatečným množstvím lanýžového oleje ( tím opravdu nešetřil). Rizoto bylo celkově úplně bez chuti a pouze mastné. Nikdo z nás neměl dostatečně silný žaludek, aby to zvládl dojíst, proto jsme jídlo vrátili. Slečna servírka nám řekla, že to takhle být má a hotovo. I přestože jsme vrátili téměř celé jídlo, zaplatili jsme vše, ale s tím jsme počítali. Vrátili jsme ho, protože to zkrátka nešlo jíst, ne kvůli penězům. Gastro zážitek, který jsme očekávali, se tedy nekonal. Manžel s dcerou byli rádi, že si počkali na...

The location of the hotel and the interior - all absolutely breathtaking. Great food and great service as well as very friendly staff. I hated the website though and the lack of information. There are beautiful photos but you don't find any information on parking your car or where the hotel entrance actually is. Confusing and disappointing to realize on arrival that the hotel does not have reserved guest parking and you have to lug all your luggage all that way up there to actually get inside. I wouldn't mind if the info was available...
