Hotel Albellus — Hotel in okres Brno-město

A hospitable, modern low-frills, Ibis/Novotel-style hotel in Brno-Židenice, about 2 km from the city center, yet served by several nearby streetcar and bus lines. It is located behind a tennis club and provides fenced-in free outdoor parking as well as free WiFi. ||||The rooms are bigger than at Ibis and provide a desk, a chair and a flat screen TV. The hotel is barrier-free, upstairs rooms are accessible by elevator and there also is a limited number of barrier-free rooms. The hotel is very quiet. It does not have a restaurant but the reception sells cold sodas, beer, wine and snacks. There is ample buffet breakfast from 7-10. I stayed at the hotel for the third time this time and consider it a great value for Brno - my single room was 32.50 € per night, the doubles are about 44 €.||||Cautions: (1) there is no air conditioning in the rooms so late June-late August stays could be iffy; (2) you have to call the reception on the phone to open a gate to let you in to the hotel and parking (the phone number is on the gate and is different from the one listed on the web); and (3) this time, the adjacent streets were a maze of changed one-ways due to extensive road repairs so your navigation will be sending you up the wrong streets. Were regular guests in the hotel for more than 2 years. The rooms are very clean and in a good condition. Since yesterday we have breakfast issues. No bake rolls and the excuse was that the rolls counted one for each guest. What a cruel story. Today just cold toast over brewed coffee, no sandwich toaster - cause: there is a group. Room service doesn't come. So we run out of paper for 2 days. Usually you don't need to ask on the service desk for such things. For a hotel with breakfast service included and this over the weekend - sorry but it's a shame. And if you got asked "if it's OK" and you reply no you get just a nice smile. Sorry Albellus this was our last stay.

On our way home (Denmark), we have stopped in Brno, at this nice hotel which was better then expected: the room was spacious, with an interesting and modern design and of course very clean.| The staff was very friendly and helpful and they made us the best recommendation for a good place to eat at that hour (around 22:00).| The breakfast was very, very good and it was included in the price of the room.| The parking space was also very good, mainly because they have also a surveillance...
