Whilst away on my hen do I stayed with my family and friends at the Hotel Kozak! This hotel has improved over the years as I have stayed in this hotel several times over the past 14 years. The Hotel itself is mainly occupuied by business groups and official individuals. The rooms are a good size varying between sleeping 1 - 4 people. Each room has its own bathroom and has wardrobe space and available plugs. Like I said before the rooms in the Hotel are basic so you have a bed, a wardrobe, side lamp bathroom and reception phone. There is no WIFI at the moment but hopefully it may upgrade soon. ||||BREAKFAST ||with the price of your stay in a room there is as complimentry breakfast in the morning, THIS IS AMAZING! In the mornings we had fresh juice and water, tea or coffee, yoghurts, bagettes and sliced bread with butter, speading cheese and jam on offer. The traditional breakfast is fried garlic ham and eggs with a side of salad which is very nice and after that came pastries and chocolate pancakes fresh made that morning! As I said this all come with the price of your stay which I think is really good! ||||RECEPTION STAFF||||The reception staff are all very friend and most can speak basic english. 'Yarik' works on night duty and he is very helpful and friendly. He speak very good english and has a czech/american accent. We have known him for a long time and you can have a good sense of humor with him. When checking out of our room we had a 7 hour wait before we had to leave for outr flight and were worried about leaving our luggage. This was not a problem for the staff as the lady on shift offered to keep our passports and luggage behind the desk for us until we had to leave. Again I cannot say enough about the reception staff and for that matter all the staff in the |Kozak! They are all very polite and friendly! ||||I keep returning to the Kozak as it is not as expensive as central hotels and they are very nice be be in company with. Right outside the Kozak is a tram stop. The number 3 or 11 take you straight into the centre of Brno and the some for coming back which is only 5 - 10mins on the tram and it is one straight road!||||I think the location is great it isnt too noisy there are several pubs and resturants around the area and it is nice and close to the city centre.||||I can promise I will always return to the Kozak it fits my needs perfectly. Again you get for what you pay for. ||||Fantastic...
Read moreAs the title says, there was nothing necessarily bad about this hotel, but there was nothing really good, either, so it was firmly in the middle, like a 3 out of 5 rating. It was clean, but not spick and span, as they say. Hotel staff were fine, but certainly didn’t go out of their way. The four-bed room was decently sized with a desk, separate bathroom and entryway, so size of the room was fine. Same goes for two-bed room. It had enough room for us and the baby cot. ||||Not a perfect location, but there's a tram (light rail) stop right outside the front door, so it's connected easily to downtown Brno.||||Wi-Fi was good enough to stream a basketball game.||||Breakfast was pretty poor. It was the usual European buffet, but eggs and stuff like that were always cold. The juice was watered down (this seems to be a somewhat common trick in the Czech Republic).||||Parking was interesting. It was around the back of the building, maybe 100 or so meters down a one-way road. It wasn't exactly clear where to park; I had to ask the staff a couple times, which required a trip in the rain back to the lobby. Also, there are times the doors to the parking can be locked, so be prepared for that extra walk.||||Stairs, stairs, stairs. ||||It was burning hot in the rooms and the radiators didn't work, so I couldn't turn them off.||||Kind of expensive for the dated facilities, poor breakfast, and other...
Read moreWe arrived at this hotel with three tired children. We looked for a hotel on the way in booking to make sure that there were free rooms. We arrived, where we were met by an unfriendly girl at the reception, who immediately informed us that the hotel was full and there were no rooms. Until I showed her the free room in the booking service. Then she offered it to us, saying that she did have the number. I had the impression that she had difficulty speaking English, but that's not a problem, you can always find a way to communicate if you want to, and she didn't. The hotel has good breakfasts and a very friendly woman from Ukraine works there. The hotel is quite clean, but the smell of sewage in the toilet was disturbing. This is the...
