My husband was born in the village where this hotel is situated and we were holidaying there to visit his family. To get a night away to ourselves we stayed here and it was lovely. We checked in slightly earlier than we had thought we could which saved us waiting around as we had arrived early. The receptionist was very polite and made an effort to speak to me in English aswelk as speaking Czech to my husband. The room itself was very lovely. The decor was neatly done and not to over the top. Everywhere was clean and tidy and there was even a free bottle of red wine in the room!! The restaurant of the hotel was great. It was deserted in the evening when we went but that was to be expected as Czech people tend to eat their main meal of the day at midday not our normal time. Despite the restaurant being empty the waiter was a little distracted and bored looking and members of the kitchen staff were having snacks at the bar. They seemed to get more service than we did! The menu was lovely and had a wide range of things to try but seemed a little muddled between italian and czech. We finally ordered and had a bottle of wine. About 25 minutes after we ordered we started to get irritated that our food hadnt arrived. Our waiter then csme over to ask me to change my order as they didnt have what I had ordered. I wasnt impressed to be told this so long after ordering but I reordered and the food shortly followed. The portion sizes were huge and there was no chance either of us would have finished. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed it thoroughly, Back in the room we started to suffer due to it being so hot outside. There was no air conditioning or portable fans to be had so all we could do was open the window and have cold showers often which sounds odd but thst is really how hot it was! We didnt sleep very well because of the heat and had just wished they had something to help us cool down. Overall a very nice stay and we would definitely go again but perhaps when it is a little cooler! To quickly add! The room cost us 57 gbp for the night inc all you can eat continental. The breakfast was delicious and so...
Read moreThe hotel is centrally located — you can easily walk everywhere, and the view is nice. However, the hotel itself is generally old and poorly maintained. The corridor lights were not working, and I had to use my phone’s flashlight to get to my room. I stayed for 4 nights, and the room was never cleaned during my stay.
Breakfast starts at 7:00, but even if you go down at 7:30, many items are already finished and not replenished. There is no kettle, hair dryer, or similar amenities in the rooms.
On the last night, my room card stopped working. When I asked why, they said they had blocked it because I was checking out the next day and they wanted to avoid possible unpaid charges — even though I had already paid in advance. It took them 3 hours to fix the issue.
The main entrance door is locked after 10 p.m. and requires a code, but they don’t provide it in advance. We were a large group, and fortunately, one of us had written the code on their room card earlier; otherwise, we would have...
Read moreOk, so I wouldn't rate this a five star only because it's not a truly five star type hotel. However, the service and the location are absolutely five star. The hotel is located in an adorable, cobblestone town center. There is outdoor, patio dining, indoor dining, but no room service. They are generous with the ice (thank God) and they have a full bar onsite. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating - Ivanka (who I think is the manager) was absolutely lovely and made our stay exceptional. She baked fresh pastries that were delicious and made us feel at home. The room was rather large but had no air conditioning that we could find. The bathroom was small but there was a ton of clothing storage. It was a cute hotel in the countryside outside of Most where the...
