Indická restaurace Taj Mahal Chomutov — Restaurant in okres Chomutov

Well, I've been to this restaurant 4 times now. The presentation and ambience is great, it has a good, relaxed feel. If you've never experienced really good curries at a top class Indian Restaurant, you'll no doubt enjoy what the Taj Mahal offers. The meals are presented well and are generous. But, having eaten at many Indian Restaurants in Australia, across Europe, the UK, the US and India itself, I can safely say I have never had curries that taste the way this chef prepares them. They are NOT a traditional, authentic flavour and sadly, I didn't really like it at all. The Vindaloo tastes like it's made with Apple Cider vinegar instead of normal vinegar, making the Vindaloo strangely sweet. The Madras was the same. The texture and colour of the curries was also weird - not necessarily bad, just not what they should be and not what I was hoping for.

Most people wouldn't notice or care. I'm nitpicking. But sadly, I won't be going back. I keep trying again, hoping the Vindaloo will be be firey hot, sharp, a deep rich red brown colour...but it's not.

A good restaurant but not great. And I would suggest the chef stops innovating and messing up traditional flavours. Hot Indian curries should not be sweet.

Nepalese curries are very different to authentic Indian curries in my experience. That might explain why the curries don't taste like Indian curries I've had at restaurants with...
