Interhotel Tatra is located in the centre of the town of Kopřivnice – a town in the Nový Jičín district - Moravia region of the Czech Republic, closely linked to the Tatra vehicle marque. It was established for the guests of the Tatra automobile factory when it was at the height of its success at the beginning of the nineteen eighties and the style of that period is an indelible element of the hotel’s architecture. The view from the room windows will tell you a lot about the picturesque surrounding landscape. Kopřivnice is rightfully part of the Lachian Gate region, which connects towns located in the Beskyd foothills, including nearby Štramberk, Příbor and Hukvaldy. Interhotel Tatra is now privately owned. Time has moved on and the hotel interiors and rooms have recently been fully renovated in order to adapt to demanding modern requirements for luxury and comfort by guests from this country and abroad. Interhotel Tatra has a maximum capacity of 71 rooms. It includes large conference facilities, which include 5 differently sized rooms with a capacity for up to 150 guests. Front desk services are available 24 hours a day. Guests can visit the lobby bar, cafe, Irish pub and beer garden with traditional Czech cuisine. In the evening, there is a cocktail bar or a 24-hour casino bar. You can actively relax in the hotel’s fitness center and then treat yourself to a soothing massage or visit the sauna. Free wifi internet connection is available in all hotel areas. Free public parking is possible in front of the hotel. The international Ostrava-Mošnov Airport is only about 15 km from the hotel.

Pretty much the only hotel in the city so you aren't left with many options. That being said, this place is pretty okay but there are a few aspects that could use improvement. The rooms are bit of a mixed bag: they seem to be renovated with new furniture, however, there aren't many of them, you have no proper place to put your clothing, especially suits on hangers etc. The bathroom is nice and clean but the showers have no doors which means that water will get everywhere. Again, the sink is pretty small. My room didn't have a hair dryer which would've been nice. The rooms overall are very dusty and rather cold. Bigger rooms are much fancier. The view is quite nice though and some rooms have a cool balcony. The staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is nothing special but it's fresh and delicious. You have to pay for parking in the lot. The hotel is right in the city centre so you can walk pretty much everywhere.

For sure not a 4 star hotel! The Design Room type has a very modern and pleasant design with modern furniture. The bed is really good and comfortable. The bathroom is also very modern with “rain shower head”. But there are also some negative things that really leaves you with a bitter taste: no closet or drawers to put your clothes, no privacy in the bathroom (the door has a clear glass all the way up (see the picture), the bathroom floor is all wet when you take a shower, the curtains don’t cover completely the windows, breakfast is the same every day with no real options for vegetarians. Let’s no forget about elevators: outdated and very wobbly and a really scary ride. Stairs are not an option as you don’t know at which floor you are. 2 stars are a bit too much for this overpriced hotel without parking (you have to pay for it).

We were spending two nights in Koprivnice and arriving by train. Having carried out a lot of research on the internet we decided to book this hotel. The main reason's were it's price and close proximity to the TATRA car museum, it's literally next door. ||Given we had two heavy suitcases we were pleased they have a ramp to facilitate access to reception. The reception area is a little off putting, the reception staff sit behind a bank teller style glass partition and you transact business through a hole in this. This may be due to the fact that the ground floor is not only a restaurant but has a separate bar, which is heavily used by the locals. ||As in a lot of business hotels in Eastern Europe the hotel rooms are on the upper floors with offices on the lower floors. Our room was on the 11th floor and afforded great views of the White mountain. The room appears to have been recently refurbished with great use of the Brown colour palette and LED lights. This I hasten to add was not unpleasant just not to our taste. There is unfortunately not a lot of hanging space but as we were only staying two nights we did not bother unpacking anything other than we needed. The piece de resistance was the shower room/toilet this was a proper wet room and was very large. The only downside was a glass panel in the door leading from bathroom to the hall in the room. Although my partner and I have been together for over 30 years we still like privacy when carrying out ablutions. This, however, is only a minor point and one that could be easily solved by the putting of a blind over the panel for those of us who require some privacy. ||The buffet breakfast was adequate...

After spending the night here, we were of two minds how to qualify this experience. The triple room we asked for came with a "field bed" for our son, slung close to the floor. Even so, the mattresses were extremely comfortable, sadly the pillows not so much, soft and lumpy. Our room was very hot and stuffy in August, without our own electric fan we wouldn't have survived. The thick blankets were obviously intended for cold weather, we took out the stuffing and slept under the outer covers. The bathroom was a bit dingy, but effective, the rain shower clanking, but with reasonable pressure and temperature. The toilet bowl was not cleaned after the previous occupant (ew!). Breakfast was a bit strange, soup plates instead of breakfast plates set out on the tables, eggs going gray from being laid out too long. Good coffee machine though. Location wise awesome, three minutes by car to Stramberk center. There is a well stocked Albert supermarket next to the hotel, as well as a decent bakery where we bought Štramberské uši. All in all not...
