Location and parking are good.||||Beautiful building on the outside, beautiful garden. Despite these this place is to be avoided.||||As one other unfortunate guest said "The worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life." I agree, the managment of this hotel is astrocious. ||||Grounds are along a river walk, but the management lock the gate to easy riverfront access and then tell you that you need a key, but keys are all lost by guests.||||There are spa facilites, but you cannot book them, because companies have prebooked them for their employees. ||||The staff try, but are understaffed, overworked and under qualified.||||We left four days early despite paying through the weekend. It was worth our health to get out of this place.||||Despite what booking.com might say this hotel is NOT air conditioned (July 2022). It has a space air coditioner in its cafe and another on one wall of the dining room.||||Staff does not speak English, German nor French. Fair enough you are in CZ. However it is a hotel.||||Pillow sheets torn from wear, duvets torn from wear (both replaced upon request).||Curtains in dining room torn from wear.||||Curtains in rooms are not large enough to cover windows to keep out sun.||||No air conditioning and no screens on windows despite a river location.||Rooms are like ovens in the summer. I purchased a large fan, which did not help.||||Trash removal at 6AM which means since no air conditioning in summer your open windows will allow you to hear all.||||Vacuuming the hallways start around 7AM to start your day.||||Food is at best adequate and does not reflect season, e.g. loads of boiled potatoes served on days of 34 degrees centigrade. Portions are oversized.||||This place is right for you if you want to relive the worst of communist hotels and all their bad perks.||||Whatever you pay for this place is too much. I have never stayed in a more miserable hotel and this includes my time in the Army during Vietnam. 4 star is a laugh, 0 star is what it is. Do NOT even...
Read moreAlthough Hotel Zamecek does not really live up to its name (Zamecek means small chateau) it is a pleasant enough place to stay. A bit out of town (a 10 min walk to centre) in a quiet part of this small spa town away from the main spa park with its colonnade. Built in the 1920s it still has the air of that time reflected in its high ceilings large bright rooms, spacious bathrooms. The décor is not too exciting but ok. The dining/breakfast room, like most of the hotel, decorated in various shades of green, is very bright with many windows overlooking the grounds. The breakfast is not up to a 4star standard, no fresh fruit, coffee from a machine... There is also a blue café restaurant which we did not use but looked nice. There are some spa treatments offered in the hotel but we did not select any from the list. Other spa hotels in town have a much better selection of treatment and more competitive prices. Our room was bright (3 windows), quite clean (apart some old stains on the carpet), overlooked the grounds and was thus very quiet. The gounds would do with more landscaping though. There is a paid car park (50Kc, just under £2) behind the main building on...
Read moreI must admit, that my idea of 4 star hotel looks different. Everything in Zamecek hotel looks and tastes "low cost". The building is very nice and historical and all the equipment looks like office furniture from Sconto. In my opinion this is a perfectly wasted chance to create nice spa hotel. The stuff was nice but really not helpful. The spa therapist (young man) couldn't tell us what are procedures for...The food was greasy and weird and breakfast coffee was so awful, that I can't imagine where man can buy such a nasty thing. I know better places for wellness weekends...
