It is hard to believe it has any stars and it is called hotel. Maybe there's no regulations about it in Czech. It is dirty in rooms. There are pices of paiting tape painted with spray to cover wholes in csrpet as you can see on fotos. Equipment is at least 30 years old. Restaurant is not really restaurant. You can not just go there to eat something. You have to pay for any meal day before. And it is closed evening time. I would call it canteen. "Hotel" manager is super rude. My friends could not park the car (it was marked that they need parking place) because it was covered by snow. Manager gave them the shovel and told they have to clean it if they want to park. They thought he is joking but he wasn't. He got mad when they as is it a joke and didn't want to give them room. I should mentioned that they arrive at noon not evening or night time. Reception suppose to be open during certain period of time but there's no one there. Manager is appearing on reception only when someone is checking in/ out. Do not go there! You can find way better place in Janskie Laznie for...
Read moreThe hotel itself is located near the centre of the town. The location is perfect.||The hotel furnishing is, however, rather old. Don't expect much from TVs or to have any above-standard equipment in rooms (except the free wifi with a poor signal on the upper floors). On the other hand, there is quite a lot of hotels or pensions in Janske Lazne and if you want to have four stars, feel free to pay for it. You don't get them in Astoria.||||But, for us, the nice and helpful staff was more than adequate compensation for less comfort. Concerning meals, we had a half-board and could not complain. Compared to many hotels, there was no buffet for breakfast but the offer was adequate and kids were served extra dessert all the time. Dinners were sufficient - you could choose from two odinary Czech meals.||||A lot of things could be better but, to be honest, they do not advertise anything that they cannot fullfil. In the end, we have a splendid memory of a summer...
Read moreI have just returned from Prague where I stayed at the Astoria hotel for a second time. This is a 4 star hotel with comfortable rooms and a fantastic breakfast.||The staff are very helpful and will let you know the best ways to get to the sights such as the Vietnamese market, the castle and Charles bridge.||||If you ask, there is free tea & coffee making facilities. Each room has free hand wash and shampoo, a sewing kit and a mini bar stocked at additional cost. There is a lift to all floors with wheel chair access. You can have a meal at night but it is a little expensive. There is a Chinese restaurant round the corner which is not bad and reasonably priced.||I would stay at this...
