U Vleku Javor — Hotel in okres Trutnov

I’ve spent there a week of ski holidays with family and friends. Penzion Javor has a perfect location next to the ski lift. ||The place is run by Sila family and they are very nice, helpful and friendly people (they are Poles friendly which is quite rare in Czech). Rooms are small en suite but able to facilitate 2 + 2 families. Downstairs there is a small restaurant with really nice food of the menu and excellent Czech beer. Breakfast is nice but you better come early if you like to have a choice. You better stay away from the dinner served when you choose HB. There is a room with a play area for children but unfortunately located next to the kitchen so it is filled with odours from the kitchen all day long (they should work on that). There are only 5 parking lots so probably you will have to pay extra for parking in another place (clamping is in operation).||I would go there...

We spent a long weekend at the Javor during the coldest weekend of the year and had a wonderful time. The place was definitely Family friendly with the owner sharing his 8 day old daughter with us! Situated right at the foot of the ski lift, it was ideal. Yes, the rooms are small, but who goes to the mountains to spend time sitting in a room!! Our bathroom was new, clean and adequate. The wine was excellent, breakfast was typical bread and cheese, but with eggs or a strange omelet like thing. Dinner was Czech food and excellent. And all of this for less than you would pay for parking at a ski resort in Colorado. The Sila family who run the Pension (and have a new baby) live there and welcome everyone as family. We can't wait to go back in the summer and hunt some of those wild mushrooms that made our mushroom soup for dinner or pick wild...

We were three families, 4 small children and two dogs - a little crazy but they handled us with ease. A great place for lunch with warm food ready to be served. It's also very convenient if you are skiing at the Javor mountain as it is situated at the base of the main lift.
