Orbis — Hotel in Prague

Just back from a few days in Prague & stayed in this hotel! From the onset I found the check-in to be very professional, in that I was emailed and asked to fill out check-in details in advance, saving us precious time on arrival. Speaking of our arrival - as the owners were not fluent in English they had a lovely chap meet & greet us & explain all about transport etc (hotel is a bit outside of Prague centre). He even went as far as getting us public transport tickets 😀 and organised breakfast etc. |Room was a bit of a culture shock, but, once we got over how basic & plain it was we settled in and named it Faulty Towers - purely out of fun & because of how basic it was. We had a private bathroom, but, it was across the way, and the bed linen, towels & room/bathroom were spotless! Major faults were.......Only had one set of towels per person throughout the entire stay which was not good, and the beds were rock hard! Also had no access to facilities to make a cup of tea at night (no tea/coffee making facilities in bedroom). Also no iron or hairdryer in room! Definitely a budget hotel, but would highly recommend as it was easy to get to city centre & it will not hurt your pocket! |Overall opinion - cheap, clean...

Wir waren 4 Nächte in der Pension Orbis und haben die Zeit überlebt. Bei unserer Ankunft sollten wir zuerst den Zimmerpreis bezahlen, ohne das Zimmer gesehen zu haben, was wir natürlich ablehnten. Da war die Stimmung der Pensionsinhaberin schon im Keller. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß, hatte 2 Stühle und genügend Abstellflächen. Das Bad war sehr klein, aber die Dusche barrierefrei. Ein Lattenrost des Doppelbetts hielt der Belastung beim Sitzen nicht stand und krachte nach unten, da er im Verhältnis zum Rahmen zu schmal war. Da es die Wirtin auch nicht schaffte, wurde abends ein anderes Bett installiert. Jetzt waren die Matrazen an jeder Seite 5 - 10 cm zu schmal, sie wurden aber am folgenden Tag durch passende ersetzt. Das Problem mit dem Lattenrost tauchte während unserer Zeit noch einige Male auf, wir reparierten es jedes Mal selber, da wir keine Lust hatten, bei der meistens sehr barsch reagierenden Wirtin zu reklamieren. Das Frühstück war unerwartet gut, jedoch der Service war mangelhaft: Wir mussten das Fehlen von Servietten, Bestecken, Brötchen, Kaffee, Eiern u.s.w. reklamieren. Es wurde dann zwar nachgelegt oder gebracht, was aber doch nervig war. Der Frühstücksraum war spartanisch möbliert, es gab keine Tischdecken oder Tischsets, auch war der Raum morgens nicht gelüftet, obwohl tagsüber Temperaturen von 32 Grad und mehr herrschten. Die Wirtin und ihr weibliches Personal müssen noch sehr viel an sich arbeiten, um einen einigermaßen ordentlichen Service den Gästen gegenüber zu bieten. Kostenfreie Parkplätze gab es...

We stayed here for 3 days and we had a great time. It was very close to public transport to get to the Prague city center which was by taking a bus and a train for about 20-30 mins . We mostly used the 30 min public transport ticket for this. The staff were very friendly and always helped with the questions we had.
