Hotel Dania is well located right at the center of Silkeborg next to the old City Hall (now a very good tapas place) and walking distance from the historic baths. ||||Service is good - the team contacted me in advance about my check-in time, and then let me check in a couple of hours early - and the breakfast buffet is extensive. (I would have liked some maple syrup for my pancakes, however.)||||The hotel is historic in every sense of the word - an 1848 building with traditional furniture, traditional dishes in the restaurant, and even staff that seems to be made up largely of mature people. ||||My small room had an up-to-date bathroom with good water pressure and was very clean, but had old-fashioned electrical outlets that had to be turned on and off with a switch. It was quiet and bed quality was good.||||Bottom line: this is a historic hotel, but not a trendy historic hotel. If those are your expectations, you'll have a good night's...
Read moreHave stayed at the hotel a couple of times. The location in Silkeborg terms is excellent. However dont expect too much from your stay.

Since I paid extern for heating I naturally expected a warm room. I was surprised to find a very cold room ~16 degrees. Heating turned off. Old slow radiators . Went down to reception only to find it was empty. Good news is that there was extra blankets in the room.
The hotel is ok but not more. Message to management: if you charge extra for electricity and heating make sure your room...

They put me in a suite which was two adjoining rooms and that was nice, but I was so cold all the time. ||I left my coat on the whole time, in order to keep warm and even had to sleep in my clothes and with my coat and doubles up the duvet. The manageress was unapologetic about the lack of heating citing the energy price hike as the reason.||Breakfast was included and was OK and staff were friendly (apart from the heating).||Good central location with dated, furnishings. At that price, there are other hotels that are more modern hotels that would suit.||I accidentally left a fleece top in the room when I left , but it was never found, even though I emailed the hotel later on the day that I departed.||I stayed for business ...
