We stayed 2 nights as a base for a trip to Aeroe. We had to go across the road to our room and followed signs up stairs, through doors, and around corners which made it feel like a labyrinth at first!||Our room was large, and faced the harbour so we had a good view of the ferries arriving, people on the streets, sunrise etc, but were not disturbed by noise. The street was not busy at night. We could sleep with open windows. The furniture was old-fashioned, not antique but retro, in dark wood, but seemed well kept and pleasant and the curtains and upholstered in dark red made it all feel a bit like genteel luxury, lovely for a short getaway by the sea. Very comfortable.||Friendly service in the reception, but notice that they are not open 24 hours. We arrived later, around 19:30, and picked up our keys in the restaurant.||Breakfast was charming in the way it catered for all the kinds of things that Danish people would have for a special, nostalgic or celebration breakfast: rye porridge (øllebrød) with syrup and cream, pancakes, hot liver pate, fresh bread and pastries of course, 8 different home made muesli including crumbled rye bread (ymerdrys) , yogurt, skyr, milk (minimilk, hurrah!), Fernet Branca (!), juice, cheese etc. the coffee was hot and fresh but alas not very strong. And brunsviger, the traditional cake of Fyn. The restaurant had lots of toy vintage cars as decoration and you could sit outside or in a small glass-walled area so that you were almost on the harbour.||We parked in the local public car park - free on Sundays and between 18 and 08. The hotel had parking but we hadn’t found all the different sites for this.|Much...
Read moreTerrible service, very uncomfortable "Deluxe^ room... It started at the booking process: they told me first I could cancel my reservation for the 3-day Archipel Stay till 12.00 at the day of arrival but their confirmation stated 8 days in advance. We had to book then the more expensive "Deluxe Room", the only then available. This room does not suite the standards for a normal use. You cannot reach the bed from one of the sides, or either the window without a deep bow: the half of the room in under a pronounced inclination. Our clothes and bags all spread over the floor, no shelves of closet to place them. At the evening of arrival, we had to go to the reception to get towels: we found only small hand towels in the room, shower cream tube empty (and so it stayed during the three days of our stay, the same as tea bags). Next evening the towels had disappeared and one of the sheets as well! And again to the reception (no staff after 20.00!) to get new ones. The following day nobody came into the room, which is really a luck...
Read moreThis was quite easy to get to. You can park by the side of the road for awhile, while you go into the reception for check in. They register your car for parking within their premises. The parking was across the main building through a narrow passageway. We had an “apartment” up a flight of stairs right where we were parked. |The kitchenette, bathroom and seating area was downstairs with the bed up a flight of stairs. It was comfortable and relatively clean. The wc was somewhat stained though. It needs to be changed. Wifi was ok.|The harbour is very near. A shopping area with restaurants is also within walking distance.||The decor is a bit dated though this is supposedly to be a “historic" area. The outside’s historic facade can be preserved while the interior can be more modern and upgraded for guests’ comfort. The stained wc needs to...
