Staying in Boca Chica to catch an early departing flight at Las Americas, I chose Hotel Angel Gabriel for its low price and good review. I'm in the hotel as I write this and so far so good. It's clean. It looks reasonably nice. It feels safe. The owner Anita is very attentionate. Bedsheets are spotless clean, so are the towels. There's a small TV with over 120 satellite channels. Air conditionning is cold, the pool too (but hay mucho sol) and the shower... cold too (that's just the Dominican Republic!).||||Now HOW TO FIND THIS HOTEL? Read carefully, because all maps on the web have it wayyy wrong. DO NOT rely on signage to guide you in Boca Chica because you won't find any - the hotel has literally no signs whatsoever.||||So apparently this hotel in on a street called "Prolongacion Duarte". What is that I have no idea. It's simply on "Calle Duarte", just East of the huge Be Live Hamaca. To reach the hotel, enter the private parking right in front of Neptuno's Club on Calle Duarte. Then go straight ahead up a small hill. You can actually see the hotel's gate from the street. Look at the attached picture for more precise guidance. Don't thank me ;).||||The hotel is a short walk to the beach. The area seems safe, at least for a...
Read moreWe stayed at Angel Gabriel just for one night While in the area without a place to stay overnight, on our way to Las Americas for a morning flight, we came upon this place which a local resident recommended. Googled it, found their website, and decided to give it a try.||||It was a great choice. While a bit more expensive than other budget hotels in Boca Chica, this is a family-friendly place, run by the owner--a very pleasant lady. (Finding a family-friendly hotel in Boca Chica is like finding a needle in a haystack.)||||We got a nice standard corner room with huge closet space and A/C; room for about USD55. They have a pool in the back and for an extra $7-8 USD you can have morning breakfast by the pool. Wi-Fi is available in the common areas but hard to get a signal from our room. ||||We found it to be a very secured place, gated and with overnight security guard. ||||It's hard to find, as it is located in a secluded area, in a hill about 4-5 blocks from the beach and behind another hotel, in a gated area. It's also very close to SDQ. took us about 15 minutes to make it to...
Read moreWe stayed here by default during Valentines Day weekend because we couldnt get a room at Hotel Zapata. However, the family owned another hotel closeby and they immediately contacted Anita for a room. ||||This was more of a bed and breakfast than hotel! Very attentive and personable! They only served breakfast but were the only diners. Dining is setup outside on the pation next to the pool. ||||The hotel is directly located in from of the Neptuno Restaurant and adjacent to Boca Marina. How convenient, private, clean and quiet!!!||||Onwer Gabriel even gave us a tour of the city. When we didn't make our flight on Sunday (flying standby) we called Anita and she and Gabriel came to pick us up from the airport. Great customer service!!! We stayed an additional night with our...
